James “Lights Out” Toney must follow the saying go big or go home. Despite any formal Mixed Martial Arts experience, the boxer, who has fought in the heavyweight, super-cruiser weight, cruiserweight, light heavyweight, super middleweight, middleweight, divisions, wanted his first fight to be against UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. Toney believed Lesnar was the logical first fight because, “He's a champion, I'm a champion and I wanted to do it.” According to story on MMAFIGHTING.COM, the UFC rebuffed Toney’s request for an immediate title shot and suggested Kimbo Slice (4-2). Toney’s response was, “That's too easy. That's like kicking a little kid's butt.” Randy Couture seems like he is just another fight in Toney’s quest to prove the world wrong and win the championship. Some might think looking past the task at hand and assuming success invites bad juju. James Toney is already planning his next fight. Assuming Toney wins against Couture, here is how the newcomer sees it, “If Lesnar gets by Cain Velasquez, I'll fight Lesnar in February or March. ... Lesnar ran away from Shane Carwin like a girl, but then Carwin ran out of gas and quit. But I'll fight any of them, any time anywhere. That's my motto.”
