Pre Fight Talk That Ended Badly Part 2

Ken Shamrock before his historic fight with Tito Ortiz at UFC 40

“I hope to God you come ready. Because if you don’t…I am going to beat you in to a living death”

Outcome: Ken Shamrock did not answer the bell after the third round

Chris Leben before his fight with Anderson Silva. This was Silva’s UFC debut.

“He’s punching me and I’m eating his shots and blasting him back in the face. He’s not going to be able to handle it, he’s going to go what is this guy, this guy’s a dump truck. He just keeps going”.

“After I knock him out he may want to go back to Japan or something where the competition is a little easier”.

Outcome: Leben got knocked out in 0:49 of the first round

Tito Ortiz on Randy Couture before their fight at UFC 44. This was on The Best Damn Sports Show Period. Tito produced a cane with a bow stuck to it.

“I got a little trick for him, a little gift. I got a cane for him. After this fight is over make sure he can walk okay, I got a cane for him”.

Outcome: Tito got dominated for five rounds and literally spanked by Couture.

Michael Bisping on Dan Henderson before they met at UFC 100

“I’m too quick for him. I don’t think he’s going to land that big shot”.

“I could be underestimating him massively, but when I look at him I don’t see a problem”.

“I think it’s a walk in the park”.

Outcome: Bisping was knocked out cold and stiff as a board in the second round in one of the most spectacular knockouts of all time.

Author is a God. My friend and I regularly the Chris Leben fight simply for his pre-fight comments. This is an MMA GEM. Leben’s extreme confidence is the set-up for the punch-line of him getting destroyed and shown no respect (figuratively) for his skills and chin. Excellent article and I encourage anyone to go the full fight clip (came over from reddit to comment on this site, which i never have before)
