In this three part series, BJPenn.com takes a look at some of the times a pre-fight verbal jab or statement didn’t end well for the one who said it. We’ll start off with some of the ones that are probably easiest to remember for fight fans.

Outcome: Chael Sonnen has been beaten twice by Anderson Silva via submission and TKO.
Nick Diaz on George St. Pierre, UFC 158 Pre-Fight Hype
“I don’t need to go out there in pink shorts and some crazy hair wearing fruity colors and beat this guy in front of his hometown”
Outcome: Nick Diaz lost a definitive Unanimous Decision to Georges St. Pierre
Frank Trigg on Matt Hughes, UFC 52 Pre-Fight
“Matt has come to the realization that I scare him on a lot of different levels”
Outcome: Frank Trigg lost via rear naked choke twice in his career to Matt Hughes.
Rampage Jackson on Wanderlei Silva anytime, anywhere
“When I beat Wanderlei I’m a take his belt pull his pants down and spank him for being so ugly.”
Outcome: Wanderlei Silva knocked out Rampage twice in brutal fashion before Rampage finally got his revenge much later in the UFC.
