Poll Results | Who ya got Jones or Evans?

This week we took to the polls to see who the fan favorite is for next month’s big event between UFC light-heavyweight champion, Jon Jones and Rashad Evans.

The two former teammates make headlines nearly every day with their grudge match posturing and as such have turned this fight into a UFC “must watch” event.

So who won in our poll?

It was relatively close, but after a near 4,000 votes you guys picked Jon Jones as the victor.

57% (2,215 votes) of you picked Jones to win, while 43% (1,671 votes) favored the challenger, Rashad Evans.

We will get another poll going next week. Thank you for your participation.

The smart bet would be jones. But I think a lot of people would like to see jones get KTFO

    • aaxantonio says:

i think jones is the better fighter, but i think evans really wants to beat him, even more than rampage , evans seems pissed of and really does not like jones, it could be hype but to me it seems real, so who knows i wouldnt be surprised if he wins but it still would be an upsett

Zack you sir hit the nail on head. EVERYONE knows Jones will win this fight but so many fans have finally realized how friggen much of an arragant p’rick he is so they voted for rashad to upset Jones out of pure hate. I personally think they are 2 peas in a pod and its difficult to say who is more of an a’sshole arragant prick so in a perfect world I would like to both of them lose (SOMEHOW) I do hope Rashad finally kicks Jones in his TOOTHPICKS he calls his legs. I mean Jones has intentionally tried to blow out everyone of his opponents knees over and over again in all his fights. Oh I know its called mauy tai teek or whatever and its supposly legal but anyway you slice it its cheap ass fighting to blow out your opponenst knees intentionally. You constantly hear Rogan and Goldie saying OVER AND OVER AND OVER again 100 times a show how all these fighters respect each other. IF Jon Jones really did respect or even remotely give a rats ass about anyone but himself he wouldn’t try and crush another man knees. Look at how many knee surguries shogun has had and bam their Jon Jones INTENTIONALLY stomping not just kicking stomping side of Shoguns knees. YES Andersen Silva is just as guilty as he is the only other fighter in all MMA that INTENTIONALLY trys to blow out his opponents knees in each and every fight. He even stomped Thaleis leitus’s knee while he was down on ground. So my point is why doesn’t Rashad or Sonnen or whoever give these cheap shot basatrds some of their own medicine. Whats funny is Silva and Jones have the skinniest toothpicks for legs of anyone in all MMA other than maybe Rumble so it wouldn’t take much to snap those toothpicks right out from underneath them and then maybe after they felt some of theri own medicine they might stop ytrying to RUIN other fighters careers

Yeah, they call it a foot jab. Rampage was complaining to the ref during the fight as Jones keep kicking in his knees. Yeah, he’s a cheap mofo but Greg Jackson will use anything that will get his fighters a win even if it’s unpopular.

  2. Jonesosacock......y says:

Fuck jones right up his cocky ass hope he gets ktfo in the first

  3. Jim says:

I just can’t think of any part of MMA where Evans can soundly beat Jones.

I’ll be cheering for Evans, but I only see this fight going one way.

I can think of one thing Rashad does better than Jones and he did it in both Rampage and Thiago Silva fights R U N A W A Y. Of course that was with Greg jackson in his corner and we have seen alot of Jackson fighters RUN AWAY lately in fact we saw Carlos Condit pull a Caleb Starnes like 10 times in one fight. Oh I know it not called running away anymore because Greg Jackson says its now called “rolling out”of danger. I was sold on Carlos Condit before the Diaz fight and rooting for him to beat Diaz but what i saw was Diaz dominating the entire fight marching forward and landing shots at will and Condit wanted nothing to do with Diaz an dspent the entire 5 rounds running away. So how does a HUGE Condit fan somehow just get so disgusted after seeing a once proud warrior just runa way from a fight when he could have won by actually using his skills and FIGHTING instead of RUNNING AWAY. LIke I said Greg jackson needs to write a book titles “GAMEPLANS FOR PUSSIES”

  4. BiggoTrav says:

I got Jones… but pretty much only because I’m not an idiot.

  5. Matt says:

Evans doesn’t have a chance in hell. Only reason the poll is close is because of the lack of education in the mma world. And I don’t mean fighting education. I mean 50% of the mma fans are complete morons.

    • you're an idiot says:

Sooo you can predict the winner of the fight by using your EXTENSIVE knowledge of MMA? You must teach me your formula one day on how to KNOW who will win fights.

Yeah, I mean as if this were a sport where anyone could get caught at any time and lose their belt (GSP?)…

YOU sire are the fucking moron, a JBJ’s nuthugger, and a complete idiot for thinking that ANY fight is a sure win. In MMA ANYTHING can happen… jackass.

  6. simO says:

I think a lot of the votes for Rashad are mainly from dislike of Jones. I’d love for Jones to lose, I just don’t see that happening to Rashad.

    • disagree says:

I think that many people voted for Evans because he actually has a chance at winning.

First of all he has trained with Bones, and knows his weaknesses. He also has definitely got into his head with all of the trash talk, and we have seen before that this can affect JBJ’s performance, at least for the first couple of rounds, then he dominates when he gets comfortable. But I think Evans game plan is to not let him get comfortable by applying non-stop pressure with take down attempts, the clench, and dirty boxing. And last but not least, his one shot knockout power and superior boxing. This is a GREAT matchup to make an exciting fight…

  7. Sheek says:

I believe Jon Jones Has more than proven himself..He has beaten a lot of ppl with ease.I don’t understand why he’s hated so much but every fighter in the UFC has fans, and along with fans comes the ppl that doesn’t like him.Jones is a beast and he’s had the crazy schedule last year.He has beaten 3 former champions. He will be champion for a long time unless Rashad or Dan Henderson gets off a lucky punch. And that’s the only chance those 2 has. There is no way they will be able to dominate the whole fight. If Jones happens to get a loss,it would really depend on him making the mistake of not having his guard up.

  8. Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

Smart bet is on Jones. I’ve only bet against him once and that was when he fought Rampage. I knew he would beat Shogun because of his rust and Machida because his footwork and slim experience in American wrestling wouldn’t match up well against Jones. I want Evan’s to walk away with the belt but the odds are stack against him. Their strengths are in the same areas and it’s gonna come down to who is the better wrestler and I think that is Evans.

I’m not calling this one. I’m just rooting for Evans.
