With Aldo’s original opponent forced out of the UFC 153 main event with an injury, former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar has agreed to pack down a weight class and test his might against the divisions reigning king.
UFC officials released this official poster yesterday evening.

Koch seems to be quite injury prone. Myself having a similar body I understand how easy it is to get injured training! Not to mention training at dukes must be insanely hard. But still I love this new fight. I’m a huuuuge Frankie Edgar fan ( BJ is obvs my #1 of all time ) but franks heart is 2nd to none. I can see him pulling this off!

Honestly I used to hate Edgar, mainly cause he beat BJ the 1st time which was a fluke but he did make a statement the 2nd time around. His recent fights with Ben Henderson yes it was both close fights and I’m glad to see him lose. The more I see him fight, the more I begin to like him. Especially taking this fight on short notice with Aldo. This is a fight that I can’t wait to see! It’s going to be fast paced and explosive!!! If Frankie can come away with a win, he would make a great Champion in 145!!! Go Frankie!!!
Short notice? The fight is oct. 13th. Does he need 6 months to prepare?
I would say a month is short notice considering it’s a title fight; especially against a champ like Aldo. But, Mark Henry did state in a interview that they’ve been studying Aldo for quite some time now. The game plan is already there, so all that’s left is the drilling. Also, Frankie seems like the type to train year round so we don’t have to worry about him coming in out of shape.
Edgars grew on me to 7 title fights 9 fight of night awards ko Maynard bigger version of himself stick and move fighter smaller then everyone fights what he walks around at underdog ever fight he has won he’s a beast
Jose Aldos gonna take him out. I like frankie and hes a good fighter but Aldos a GREAT fighter!

I think this fight will be a good fight but I don’t see this fight ending I mean I love both Jose and Frankie as fighters but neither man I see can put the other away I mean Frankie isn’t known for putting people away besides Maynard and I don’t think Aldo has enough power to put Edgar away Penn didn’t Maynard didn’t and neither did Hendo so I see it a Split going either way
It’s not necc about power speed kills but Edgar does have ko power we will c now fighting guys that usually way 180 but Aldos the biggest u can get for a fw soo no small task Either I hope it goes 3 with a finish either way Biggest Fight Of Decade Last time two relevant champs faced each other since bj kicked the shit outta gsp in that first fight

I can see that happening. But just to give him a bit credit, I say by unanimous decision. I’m sure Aldo is being seen as the majority favorite, but I see Frankie using his footwork & speed to outwork Aldo. I don’t really think he’ll KO or Sub Aldo, but hey anything can happen!
Looking forward to this card. Aldo v Edgar will be great and Rampage v Teixeira should be explosive. I think Aldo will take a points decision and I hope Rampage goes out in style.
