  1. the original steve says:

i dont understand. the dude has a medical marijuana card prescribed to him by a doctor. i can understand a fine for the failed drug test. but suspended for a year? its not like its a performance enhancer.

    • Mike R says:

still to be reviewed by athletic commission, don’t be surprise if he gets a reduce to 6 months suspension because of the medical marijuana card prescription

    • Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

I disagree with the commissions suspension of a year for Diaz but it’s still illegal in Nevada. Even with a medical marijuana card do you think pot use is illegal in CA Athletic Commission?

      • Mike R says:

well high testosterone is subject to suspension unless you are seeing a doctor and he keeps it at a normal level but then again PED is list under federal law as Schedule IV controlled substances and has more loopholes for national medical use, plus every state allows steroids under doctor supervision, some states don’t allow Cannabis even in hospital use there fore the state atheistic commission can view it as completely illegal even if its medical use in another state cause their state don’t recognize it as medical use

      • Mike R says:

as far because of the state legalization, as CA Athletic Commission concern they may allow loophole of medical idk

    • The King says:

You don’t understand because your a dumb ass.
Your just 1 of the idiots that run your mouths on this forum

    • TRUE…..the dude just needs to get the heck away from ceasar gracie and find him a good mentor coach. Ceaser is like a kid he try’s to fit in with nick, instead of helping him and being his mentor… I tell you if nick would be at jackson’s , AKA, or ATT he would have a good attitude and be a lot more complete fighter.

    • K2 says:

The 12month suspention is because it’s his 2nd fail drug test in Nevada.

  2. Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

Must have been a slow news day.

  3. gdub says:

And yet these ****ing cheaters with medical testosterone aka steroids, get a free ****ing pass, **** this political bull shit.

  4. Hostile Hunter says:

Really is sad that this day in age we are still putting people in cages and loosing jobs for pot. New york Libs are going to use this as ammo to check mma out of The Empire State. Diaz is my idle….

  5. Tim says:

Hahahaha the plant looks like a bowl of weed. A very well placed bowl of weed.

  6. Thom says:

lol its a ”scandal” now? ok..

  7. Rick says:

New York is a joke. They don’t even allow Jiu Jitsu tournaments there. Clearly they are trying to discredit MMA so they have a easier time not letting it be legal there.

    • GRT 3000 says:

What’s with that side of the continent? It took Ontario years to get the stick out of their ass too. Is the east coast just a bunch of pussies?

  8. Robby says:

Excellent journalism here, someone a little biased? It’s just a little pot people. Most of you are on prescriptions that mess your brain and bodies up way more than pot ever will.

  9. waitwtfffwtfwtf says:

OH NO he smokes weed!!!! Let’s investigate that instead of our shitty rule system

  10. What is failed to be mentioned is that weed can be detected up to 16 weeks for a regular user. Judging from his medical card ownership, Nick would fall into this catagory. What they also fail to say is no one can determine when a person last used though a urine test. They also don’t tell you that drugs such as cocain, crack, etc…, will go undetected after a few days only with a urine test. Thechnically speeking and by no means an accusation, Condit could have used one of these drugs less than a week from the fight and would pass the pee test. Since everyone in the world except for the board of course knows that weed is not a PED, why is it on the list? Most of the argument is based on the fact that it is an “illegal” drug. Well so are the other drugs mentioned above, so why pick on this guy and possibly be praising a crack head. Sounds like it’s more of a political thing above everything else.

  11. this sucks for Diaz, but when you sign a contract on the dotted line, you must comply with everything thats written in black and white on that contract….Do it people! Fighters Union Local 420…..

  12. tim says:

They should ban weed from joe rogan and coke from his partner. Both stumble on words and make the commentary as painfull as listening to diaz talk. Joe rogan is great, but overrated

  13. Thurgood Jenkins says:

Is this really a “scandal”? The guy tested positive for weed. It’s not ****in’ Watergate.

  14. lex walker says:

this is bs i bet members of the athletic commission smoke 2 they should just fully legalize it

  15. fred says:

Its WEED. NOT a performance enhancer. Jesus all u idiots commenting missed the point.. Who cares if its in the contract Its ONLY WEED. Not a performance enhancing drug. WEED HAS NO IMPACT ON A FIGHTERS ABILITY, BE IT ADVANTAGEOUS OR DETRIMENTAL. ****ING POINTLESS. Tylenol is more of a performance enhancer than weed……GRRRRR

  16. I smoke everyday, if im getting paid 6 figures and i need to be clean on that day, I’d make sure im clean for the day and light it up right after i take a drug test, i do it all the time right here in las vegas, the fight capital of the world…it aint that hard you ****ing retard!!! pay attention! its a small price to pay, all you have to do is listen! now look who’s the ****ing idiot! idiot!

  17. Deany Boy says:

Diaz smoked a joint directly after the fight. He didn’t care about failing a drug test because he had just quit MMA.

  18. Alex says:

diaz is very anti ufc and a legitimate threat to the title holder

thus dana was behind the scenes pushing hard for his suspension

    same thing with marles coenen

    same thing with hectar lombard

  19. Xaninho says:

That being said I will light one up!
