PHOTO | Bigfoot Sends Out Alleged Proof Of Illegal Shots In Tittle Fight
Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva quickly began protesting the TKO stoppage caused by the onslaught of Cain Velasquez last weekend at UFC 160, and the protest continues.
“Bigfoot” initiated the claims that referee Marion Yamasaki called the fight too early at the UFC 160 post-fight press conference, and said he believed that the UFC heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez landed several illegal blows to the back of the head leading to the finish. Velasquez finished the fight early in the first round in dominant fashion and the champ felt the stoppage was justified, the same can be said for UFC President Dana White.
While “Bigfoot” did eat 11 unanswered blows from Velasquez before Mario Yamaski broke the men apart, some fighters took to Twitter to dispute the stoppage as well. Silva went as far as to say that the ref’s should be penalized for bad stoppages, and came to the post-fight presser with an ice pack on the back of his head.
Since no action has been taken in favor of his dispute, “Bigfoot” has released a photo via his Instagram where he suggest he has bruising around the back of the head, particularly where the spine is attached to the skull. Along with the photo, Silva gave his thoughts where he stated that he isn’t attempting to make excuses, and would have rather been rendered completely unconscious so there would be no doubts.
Here is the photo of “Pezao’s” bruising, followed by his statement:
“Winning or losing is part of sport and every professional athlete has prepared for these kinds of results, sometimes it’s how you lose. The photo above on the left was taken hours after the fight and on the right was taken today, was told by several people that I took blows to the back of the head where it is considered irregular blows, just see the pictures and video of the fight to confer … I do not want this making excuses for my loss would have rather been knocked over without conditions to raise or terminated than have lost in my view unfairly … Blow to the ear does not get swollen like part of the rear of the head.”
What does Penn Nation think? Was the stoppage early at UFC 160? Should Mario Yamasaki be penalized? Let us know!
