Phil Baroni Talks About His Knockout Loss At Ring of Fire This Past Weekend
By Jamie McAllister
Phil Baroni comments on Sherdog.
Baroni was knocked out in the second round at Ring of Fire 43: Bad Blood this past weekend. Baroni is now (0-2) in his last two fights and (14-15) overall.
Baroni comments on the fight.
“Hey look guys I went in the ROF cage fought and lost. I have no excuse. I didnt respect my opponent or his punching power. I paid for dearly for it. Im really dumb and I have no excuse for losing and not having the proper prep. I was in India, NY, Vegas, San Jose, training with dif teams and at dif gyms. I never had a set camp, I wasnt focused. I was going by the mirror telling myself I was in shape and ready not by my performance in the gym. Yes this was a bad L, it cost me a fight in ONE FC with Roger Huerta You think I would have learned this lesson before as I have made the mistake on a few occasions. Look Im not perfect, Im not on here saying im unbeatable or any of that. Im a guy like you who trains for a challenge accepts it and takes it head on. I been thinking a lot how its going to be a long road back from this to anyplace I want to be. So today I stopped thinking and am out the door to Drysdales in Las Vegas . No more time to waste thinking or regretting. Time to head out on the long road and start walking.”
The loss also had a knock on effect for Baroni as he was knocked out he is now out of his scheduled fight with Roger Huerta which was set for later in the month at ONE FC: Destiny of Warriors.

Sounds like excuses to me. Just retire man
No matter what baroni your a weirdo but put on some good fights! Dont give up though you have put out some good ko’s! Someone like you who has been around for so long should know not to under estimate anyone ever!
Phil should retire. Its almost as sad as when Shamrock started losing every fight. Pull the plug already.
He sucks bad!!!
Who gives a shit
Funny how people are internet warriors and talk shit about these guys…win or lose they could still smash most of you who probably are sitting there eating cheetos as you type/read this….if you saw phil baroni face to face 1. You wouldn’t talk shit cause he would destroy you and 2. You’d ask him for a picture or autograph or some shit…cut the guy some slack!
I could eat all the cheetos in the world and still have better cardio than Baroni.
phil brings it. i got no beef.
When your loss record is more than your win record then I think you should rethink about your fighting game.
Better than bob sapp baroni is still a beast/badass
Find a decent job…
I would rather watch Baroni any day than Jon Fitch.
Told ya Phil Bologna would fail… leave mma now chump.. your no fun to watch at all..
Calling him a chump etc shows your a new fan. Phil put in some of the best scraps to help build MMA and make it exciting. With that said I do think he should hang’m up, suffering this many KOs this late in age or any age for that matter isn’t healthy at all. I’m sure he knows this and bills don’t pay themselves but at a certain point they should stop licensing him or something. Good luck NY badass, OG scrapers in MMA always get my support!!
