Pettis Denies Aldo Coaches Claims Of Fake Injury To Avoid Title Fight

Over the weekend Nova Uniao founder and Jose Aldo head coach, Andre Pederneiras, went on a Brazilian radio show and pretty much dissed top UFC lightweight contender, Anthony Pettis, for backing out of what should have been the main event last weekend.

“In my opinion, [Pettis] never got hurt,” Pederneiras stated. “He realized he’d never make weight (at 145 pounds), that it wasn’t as easy as he thought it would be.”

To this conspiracy theory, Pettis responded through his jiu-jitsu coach Diego Moraes.

“It’s stupid of him to say something like that. It was a dream fight for me. My injury was real and the UFC took me from the fight. I hope to win my next fight and fight Aldo at 145 pounds.”

Of course Pettis has avoided fighting Aldo. The so called injury is minor and EVERY fight card has one or more fighters with that little knee strain. lmao. Bendo will send this guy down.

I have a feeling you’re going to get ripped into again for this stupid post. Why would anyone duck a title fight? Aldo’s coach is ignorant and so are you. You know Pettis already beat Henderson, right? You watch a few UFC’s and you think you know something. I’m pretty sure I speak for the majority of the MMA community when I say: You Dont Know Jack.

      • Gargoyle Wrestling says:

Wow Sean, you Really Are ‘The Expert’ on MMA!! I never knew until now that you are an Official…Bendo will send Pettis to Aldo to get beat up by him. That injury is like a strain dude. Happens ALL the time. You are a retard. Pettis was scared. Done.

    aldo will eat pettis

  3. Dddddddd says:

Does anyone know who stopped Pettis from fighting? Look it up. That was a cheesy ass thing to say and at least it wasn’t from riding a scooter around. Aldo can be a fantastic fighter but this makes him look stupid.

  4. 123 says:

Anthony Pettis vs Edson Barboza should happen soon

  5. Gee says:

I love both Aldo and Pettis. I hope Pettis will be victorious in his next fight and if that happens, UFC please let him fight Aldo. That is gonna make you a lot of money because it’s a dream super fight!!!!!!!!!!

i’m pretty sure they have something like ‘medical records’ to present before they can turn down a fight due to an injury…i mean there has to be some guidelines to follow…it was a big fight, and UFC would’ve earned a lot of PPV. but if dana allowed it not to happen then the injury was probably a little bit serious..
i think it is quite childish for aldo’s coach to say something like that…

You ARE ASSuming way to much. I’ll lay it out how it goes and how it happened. Pettis strains his knee and he and his coaches are afraid it might be serious and DO NOT want to take the chance and of not being 100% against Aldo. So they go see their doctor. (Now this doctor KNOWS Pettis is an MMA fighter and that he needs to be super conservative so that if something serious happens he will be immune from being sued. Therefore, he diagnosis Pettis with his witty bitty strain and suggests he not train for awhile even though NO SURGERY is needed. BTW: When NO SURGERY is needed, is code for we have ligament strain and no tears. So the doctor writes it up and they send it to the UFC. From there the UFC doctor looks it over calls Pettis and his coaches and says yep he has a severe strain and can’t train(Do you think he would say yes he can train and then possibly get sued??? Fukc No). So guess what, Pettis and his coaches sigh a relief and then they get to cancel the fight. Whew that was close. Now, don’t you think Pettis’ coaches KNEW exactly what was going to happen?? Yep. That injury is a minor one that fighters fight with all the time. Now the question is whether Pettis and his coaches were scared or not?? Hell yes they were. They did not want to take any chances of Pettis not being 100% against Aldo and this witty bitty strain scared the shit out of them and they KNEW exactly what would happen once they called their doctor in. That’s how it happened, Believe it or Not!

Dude, you’re a idiot. Let me count the ways:
        1) Pettis asked to go down and fight Aldo. His style is perfect to beat Jose. So all of a sudden he’s scared?!
        2) Sure every fighter goes into a fight with some sort of injury, but when you can’t train, YOU CAN’T TRAIN! You lose valuable time to get ready for your opponent. And when you’re bread and butter is striking, wouldn’t you want to make sure you can train 100%?
        3) He’s healthy now cause he rested! Duh!
        4) If he fought Aldo and lost cause of a bum leg, then what? You call him a bum that didn’t stand a chance?
        5) Please……PLEASE, don’t ever call a fighter scared. They fight for a living. You should talk about these guys like they are in the same room.

go home chart you fucking moron.

        • magoo says:

          Which ones Chart?

        • Gargoyle Wrestling says:

Go back to the Forum, you fukcing forum nerd. Plus. I’m not chart. lol

        • Bob'O says:

Thom, I don’t even think Sharted is that brain dead when it comes to discussing future match ups bro, he just usually hates the guys you and I like. I don’t hate Gargoyle though either, he can be a nice guy. I am trying to educate him. I don’t think he even is / or was aware that Pettis off the cage knocked Henderson the fuck out in the WEC for the belt. I try to give some folks a pass cause many did not watch the WEC, but you and I did obviously, and it just gets old hearing FNG’s talking like they know what the fuck they are blowing out of their pie hole about. That was one of the best fights I have ever seen, and Henderson attacked on stand up like he never has since. Pettis is a fucking animal and I believe he will defeat Henderson and possibly hold two belts even. Pettis is no joke, and he will eventually defeat Aldo as well in my opinion. I respect Aldo and Henderson, I just believe that Pettis has a destiny of being the champ, or champs. Hope all is good with you brah. ~Bob’O

        • Gargoyle Wrestling says:

Hey Bob’O, did you just insult me??? lol.

  7. Part Time MMA Fan says:

Saying Bendo is an easier fight than Aldo is just plain stupid. I think Bendo vs Pettis is a super fight.

    • Ddddddddd says:

Good observation. Pettis tried to take the fight. Pettis’ personal doctor said he could. Whoever Dana had him sent to said it was to severe to fight on. When I’ve had small tears in the past I didn’t need surgery and they healed up fine.
Maybe I’m just a mutant and so is Pettis and that is why I’m a fan.

    • Bob'O says:

Yep, their last fight was one of the best MMA fights that I have ever seen, and that was in the WEC. Henderson fought like a stand up UFC fighter, as well as Pettis who always does. Nobody can call Henderson a wrestling dry humper after watching that fight though. Even though he was finished, he fought like a warrior. However, I think Pettis will defeat him again. No disrespect to Henderson. ~Bob’O

  8. Bob'O says:

Gargoyle, Not really. I think you’re a good guy, but even friends disagree and that’s ok bro. It’s nothing personal. We all support different fighters, it just is what it is. 😉 That was me here in this thread, but a certain gutless turd likes to impersonate a lot of us OG’s here at BJ Penn .com, I have seen it done to you and many others as well, so read between the lies cause you will know if it’s really me talking. 😉 ~Bob’O
