Pat Barry Set for GLORY Debut in May on Spike TV
With a booming personality that was only matched by his go-for-it fighting style, Pat Barry was a fan favorite during his five-year run in mixed martial arts.
Barry, somewhat surprisingly, retired from the UFC after a 5-7 run through its heavyweight division. The ground game was always an albatross around Barry’s neck so it fitting that the GLORY kickboxing promotion would be the perfect landing spot.
Barry will make his GLORY debut against Zack Mwekassa on May 3 in Broomfield, Col., at the 1STBANK Center. The event airs live on Spike TV.
Barry (15-5-1) competed on the K-1 circuit between 2005 to 2007. He began his MMA career in 2008 and finished 8-7, with four of those seven losses coming by way of knockout or technical knockout.
Mwekassa is 10-1 with nine finishes.
GLORY 16: “Denver” will feature a welterweight world championship title fight between Nieky Holzken and Marc de Bonteand, as well as a one-night, four-man heavyweight contender tournament.
