Pacquiao Rep Says Jones' Nike Deal Did Not Come at Expense of Pac-Man | UFC NEWS

In the wake of UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones‘ groundbreaking deal with Nike, UFC President Dana White stated that Jones’ agreement with the sports apparel company came at the expense of famed boxer Manny Pacquiao’s Nike deal.

White told MMAWeekly recently “They’re shutting down the Manny Pacquiao line and starting up the Jon Jones line. I don’t know why they shut down the Pacquiao line, but they did and that (expletive) was selling like hot cakes. I got Manny Pacquiao (expletive) from Nike.”

Pacquiao publicist Fred Sternburg strongly disagreed in a recent statement to BoxingScene.com.

“It’s 100 percent false. The relationship between Manny and Nike has never been better.”

Jones’ Nike deal has also come under criticism from WWE wrestler CM Punk, who sarcastically remarked on Twitter recently: “Let’s reward more drunk drivers with endorsement deals! #responsibility.”

I would say Pacman’s falling out comes with his newfound religious beliefs and consquential bigotry.

Being in on a fix is what made Nike kick his ass to the curb.

  3. Unanimous221 says:

So, it’s ok for Jones to get drunk off his ass, go drunk driving and risking the life of others, ramming his Bentley into a pole… and he’s still sponsored by Nike? I remember lesser problems from other athletes and them losing big deals. WTF?
