Overeem vs. JDS Heavyweight Title Fight Official For UFC 146 In May
We announced this a month ago, but the UFC has now confirmed our rumor as fact.
Junior Dos Santos finally has a date penned for his first UFC title defense against Alistair Overeem.
UFC officials announced the bout as official just moments ago.
UFC 146 is set to go down on May 26 at Las Vegas Nevada’s MGM Grand Garden Arena. The heavyweight title fighter between Alistair Overeem and Junior Dos Santos will serve as the evenings main event.
Alistair Overeem is highly regarded as one of the best heavyweight fighters in the world. Owner of the Guinness Book of World Records title for most heavyweight combat titles held, the former Strikeforce, Dream and K-1 kickboxing champion earned his shot at the UFC title by taking out Brock Lesnar in the very first round of his UFC debut.
Dos Santos burst onto the UFC scene with a debut knockout over the highly regarded Fabricio Werdum. From the start of his UFC career no man has been able to top him and that includes the former undefeated champion Cain Velasquez, who Dos Santos beat at UFC on FOX 1 to win the UFC’s title.
This heavyweight clash between the division’s best strikers is sure to deliver fireworks.

Idk what happened in that fight but I had Cerrone winning before he got pummeled.
Well, Nate had a reach advantage and it looked like Cerrone was trying to power his way through. But, that’s not really his game. His game is leg kick, arm striking combo’s + some take – downs. By the time he started doing it in the 2nd round, he had already been to badly beaten up in the 1st. Diaz definitely got to him beforehand mentally. He should have been working take – downs in the 1st. But I am confident he will get him next time.

Overeem couldn’t take the power of most light heavy weights when he was fighting in the division what makes people think he can take JDS’s power. Give a break people. Overeem will get hit and go into survival mode.

How do any of u figure that JDS is going to beat Alister? seriously Allister Overeem’s striking is close to the level of an Anderson Silva JDS isn’t as technical. Not to mention Allister Overeem has been a champion in every fight promotion he’s been in come on now JDS does have a chance to win but its a very slim chance.

Seeing how JDS just got the title a couple calendar flips ago – whereas the Reembear has already won 3 titles, years ago – you would certainly be an expert on bandwagoning. Enjoy it while you can. It will all be over soon.
i think this fight is going to be super similiar to cain vs jds. reem will look descent landing a few kicks, as jds dances around and guages his timing. and then jds decides to go for the kill and reem wont recover. jds by first round tko. bet.

I believe JDS is going to win by TKO but if he loses I won’t be surprised either since Overeem has some wicked knees. But this won’t end by decision.

I don’t see Allister losing the striking battle to Junior, Juniors one of the best in the world but his striking is no ware near the level of Alister
