Overeem, Silva, Mir, Velasquez, Dos Santos & Nelson Get Pulled For Random Drug Screening By NSAC

The heavyweights that make up the UFC 146 main card are big guys, in fact, they are massive, but are they cheats, are they taking performance enhancers?

We will know soon enough.

In a rare occurrence the Nevada State Athletic Commission exercised their right to make six UFC 146 participants adhere to their out-of-competition drug testing program.

Immediately following yesterday “UFC 146: Dos Santos vs. Overeem” pre-fight press conference the NSAC required the entire panel of fighters to submit to the random testing.

Roy Nelson, Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, Cain Velasquez, Frank Mir, Junior Dos Santos and Alistair Overeem submitted urine specimens for the purposes of screening for banned substances of abuse and performance enhancing drugs.

Results of the testing will be available in the next 7-14 days.

Out of the six tested Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva is the only fighter to ever test positive for performance enhancing drugs.

  1. ThaGreenBandit says:

LOL! I’m sure it was purely coincidence that ‘Reem happened to be in that group.

  2. Turkeykneck fun chav says:

hahahaha, yo can tell bigfoot used to use HGH, look at his jaw lol.

    reem gonna be shitting bricks?

  3. Gerg says:

The head of that nail is reeling from the pounding you just gave it.

  4. ry tay says:

    yeah really ‘random’.

    still very interesting

  5. Joseph Jacobsen says:

You know, cause that has worked in so many other places!

  6. Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

This is the most interesting news I’ve read in a while. Somebody is out to get you Overeem!

  7. Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

    The Culinary Union strikes again!

  8. dante040 says:

Big country must be on roids. There is no way he got that body by going to the gym everyday.

  9. Armandolopez says:

I agree I believe someone is out to get Overeem from the NSAC.

I will now expect this happening whenever Alistair is on the card.

    • Big J says:

Part of his disciplinary action, for doing his last test few days later then he was supposed to, is to have two random tests, this test counts as one.

  10. Jason says:

“Lets throw Roy Nelson in there to make it look completely random, they’ll never know.”– NSAC

  11. Pochizzle says:

Look at all the reem fans scared he’s juicing ahahha.
They already told us about these tests, quit crying that they finally are doing something to stop abusers. Not just reem had to take it

  12. Joe Bidden says:

Lol? Everyone acting like it’s a crime for them to test Overeem. Sure, maybe it wasn’t random. But if he’s juicing, who gives a shit whether it was random or not?

Idk if he is juicing or not. But if he, or anyone else, is then goddamn it, they need to be caught and punished for it.

Whether they are “out to get” Overeem is a moot point if he’s caught. If he tests negative, then good job for him and they’ll just look like assholes.

  13. Joe Bidden says:

In addition, I’d love for them to start testing randomly more often. Juicers need to get the fuck out and fight clean. Not just heavyweights either; We all know there are juicers in every division. ‘Bout damn time they actually do something besides slapping people on the wrist.

  14. Xaninho says:

At last they’re doing random testing. Finally doing the right thing. But now take it further and test fighters not only when they’re at Vegas for a presser, but on just an ordinary day inbetween fights. If this will be a reoccuring thing in vegas after pressers, the cheaters still can make sure they don’t get caught.

Random testing all year around is the way to catch cheaters.

I’m sure Overeem won’t test positive, but if he does then good riddance cause I hate cheaters, fellow countryman or not…

    • Pochizzle says:

I see it as they are trying to make a point with these screenings. Yes it would be very obvious to test after every presser, but this card has the biggest impact with all the heavy weights. I believe they will do it more randomly, but only time can tell. I’m glad someone has an actual response instead of crying about about overeem

    • THOM BJJ says:

as a fellow dutchman you should know reem has juiced in the past.. not sure if he still does, i doubt it, but he was on roids in pride, k1 and dream, theres no doubt in my mind.

      • Xaninho says:

So you have seen him use steroids and you took pics? You should stop stating your personal assumptions as being facts dude….

I can’t say he never used it, but no one but himself and people that possibly helped him with it ‘know’ if he juiced. It’s not that hard to gain 40 clean lbs. in 5 years.

        • Xaninho says:

You’re clearly a fat pear shaped loser in his momma’s basement. Maybe you should get off your ass and do some sports.

And I am 5’11” and walk around at 190. I’m not 6’5″ like Overeem who has the frame for it. So for me it’s quite impossible to grow to 230 and I don’t want to cause that wouldn’t look too good.

        • Kc says:

          Bla debla > Xaninho. Pwned.

        • Xaninho says:

I see your boyfriend Kc here doesn’t understand weight to height ratio either.

Good to see he’s rooting for you. Who said men didn’t stand by their man anymore?

        • Xaninho says:

I shall try to explain this in the easiest possible way…you are wrong!

He is 6’5″, I am 5’11”. Weight to height ratio doesn’t stay the same per inch. The taller you are the more weight per inch you can carry around.

Being 5’11″and 243 lbs. like you seem to think wouldn’t be the same as 265 lbs. at 6’5″ . And this is the last comment on this subject cause I got better things to do than educating people.

        • Xaninho says:

Funny how you always resort to bad language whenever someone sets you straight.

Calling me a fucking idiot doesn’t make your ignorant, stupid, faulty calculating correct. It’s only making you look more stupid than you already did.

          Bye for now dummy. :)

    • Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

Damn that’s cold dude. I thought Overeem was your boy. If JDS test positive I’m going to be very shocked and disappointed.

I want to see this card and this main event so bad. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for everybody.

      • Xaninho says:

Yeah he is one of my fav fighters, and I don’t think he juices, but I’m not a blind fanboy like some people on here that still cheer for their fighter even after being caught juicing.

  15. you know, im actually expecting all of them to pass

  16. andyo says:

lol. if you cant tell that at least 1 of the 6 selected have enhanced there bodies with illegal substances then google natural bodybuilders. see there limits. not gonna say names *COUGHS* reem’ has done steroids in the past to get out his losing streak.

    • Twatty Mc.Twatface says:

well while i agree overeem is juicing i think you will find in body building standards he is quite small. infact he would be on par with a top natural bodybuilder
its the speed in which hes piled on those muscle pounds that has me.
without roids, at his age the highest amount of musclemass you could gain without fat it 10-15 lbs

      • Twatty Mc.Twatface says:

in a year, in under 2 years hes gained between 45-60 lbs give or take a little water

        • Xaninho says:

in 5 years! and he walked around at 230 already so it’s 35 lbs. in 5 years.

        • Xaninho says:

Oh ffs! the whole reason he went up a weightclass was cause he can’t handle weightcuts!

You saw the press conference… He’s about the same size as JDS.

        • Twatty Mc.Twatface says:

          he was LHW till 2007
          thats 205
still in 4.5 years hes done 60lbs while still maintaining at mma training regime?
funny hes the only HW to look like that at that weight eh other than bobby lashley

  17. leave alistair overeem alone says:

he had to do 2 drug testing in the last event before brock fight allready -_-

  18. jdubx says:

they need to do this every fight card tbh. having “planned” tests gives the fighters time to get it out of their system, it needs to be random every fucking test, end of story.

  19. bizzle(boss of all bosses) says:

Reem is shirting bricks right now..lol

  20. Nom Nom Nom says:

The busted Roy Nelson with a pound of hash…hash browns that is!

  21. I have better stand-up than Mayhem Miller says:

    2007
    Overeem was fighting on 205.
    He walked like 230.
He was cutting 25 pounds of weight to fight on 205.

    2008
He accepted the fact that he’s a heavyweight then he started to gain another 27 pounds of muscle.

    2012
    Haters gonna hate.

    • Xaninho says:

      Exactly!

And don’t try to explain or educate the dumb fuckers, cause they keep repeating the same incorrect information.

  22. Hjortur Halldorsson says:

I actually don’t give a shit if these guys are on roids, because I just want to see a great show. These guys train like 4 hours or more a day, so if they need some juice to perform, that’s fine by me. But that’s just my opinion but I totally understand those who are against it and want all the figthters on juice off the UFC. Juice or no juice these are all phenomenal athletes, Roy may just be the best athlete of them all. How he fights like that with all that excessive weight is beyond me. You need to be a one special specimen to pull that of :-D

My guess is that Reem has been on the juice in the past, but I would think that he would be smart enough to stay clear off it, after he got into the UFC. There’s no denying that he looks fantastic, me and Arianny can agree on that.

Not one of these six fighters will get a positive result, that’s at least my prediction.

    • Hjortur Halldorsson says:

I don’t know what action movies you been watching but none of the ones I’ve seen look as fantastic as the UFC :-D Any movie recommendations from you are welcome, because I’ve obviously not been watching the good stuff.

I have been training sports all my life and I can understand that some athletes feel the need to take roids to enhance their performance levels in training and competition. Of course I think roids should be illegal but I’m not going to criticize athletes who use it. Have you ever trained more than 4 hours a day for several weeks at a time? I highly doubt it, but of course it’s possible. If you have and you’ve never taken illegal substances to enhance your performance level, then I take my hat off to you.

Bla DeBla I recommend that you learn to speak in a more objective manner, because when you bash other peoples opinion you just don’t sound very intellectual and therefore people will not regard what you say. Just a friendly advice from a fellow MMA fan :-D

      Have a nice day.

      • Hjortur Halldorsson says:

Haha you are a fascinating human being, there’s no denying that. But is it just me or do you need a hug? Is no one there for you? That would at least explain your obnoxious behavior on this site.

Good job bringing Hitler into the argument, that was not weird at all.

I was little disappointed that you didn’t recommend any action movies for me to watch, maybe next time.

        Stay classy ;-)

      • Hjortur Halldorsson says:

I just clicked your name and your Facebook site popped up. There I saw that you’re Liverpool fan, now I totally understand why you are so miserable.
Man oh man you most definitely need a hug. You’ve been through a lot these last years being a Liverpool supporter and all.

But you know what even though you are miserable, don’t come here with all your negativity and bashing on other peoples opinions, because that’s just makes you look bad and no one else.

      • Hjortur Halldorsson says:

Ohhh man I though you would be a great husband material. O well I guess I will have to find someone else.

It’s very good to know when you feel a huge is appropriate. Again not weird at all that you would bring that up.

Stay classy my fascinating friend ;-)

      • Hjortur Halldorsson says:

Cheapskate owners? You where one of the biggest spenders this last summer. Dalglish should not be allowed to buy anyone because he is clearly incompetent when it comes to buying players. Your so called talented squad consist of Kelly, Gerrard (when he feels like it), Suarez (when he’s not screwing up perfect sitters), Leiva, Reina (sucky season though), Skrtel and Agger (when he’s not on the sidelines injured). That’s it, the rest are pathetic especially Dalglish as manager.
This club will never get the stars from the Euro Cup because Liverpool has lost it’s allure.

P.S. To take a note out of your book: I will stay as feminine and creepy as I like, thank you very much :-D

P.S.S. You are obviously a very masculine dude. I can just feel it through your comments. There is not a doubt in my body that you are a very tough guy in person.

      • Hjortur Halldorsson says:

We obviously have to disagree on this issue. IMO Downing has not had a good season. Enrique started great but after the New year his performance has been poor.
Bellamy was a great buy, I forgot about him, a true character who never seems to give up. Unfortunate he can’t play every game because of his body.

The club was under performing when Hodgson was in charge and that didn’t truly reflect on how good they are. Dalglish did a great job when he took over, but IMO he should never have been in charge for this season because he has simply been gone for too long (at least 10 years). It was a strong move to make him takeover Hodgson but that should have been it.

There’s no denying that the man is a legend but the trouble his that you can’t fire a guy like him, even though Liverpool are not performing in the PL. You must admit that you are not pleased with your league position. But OK maybe you will win the FA Cup, if you do that, then this season has been a success, if not then it’s been a failure if you ask me. The Carling Cup doesn’t cover for a miserable PL season in IMO.

I think Lucas Leiva is one of the best defensive midfielders in the PL, but I’m not surprised that you wouldn’t agree with me on that, since we obviously see things differently. Jay Spearing is not nearly in his class yet, but maybe someday.

Well that’s it for me, I need to go and attend to my wife, she’s not a fan of me siting in front of the computer on a Saturday night :-D

Have a pleasant evening Bla DeBla and I’m not being sarcastic btw.

      • Hjortur Halldorsson says:

You make some good valid points regarding Dalglish and your club. But there’re so many factors why I think Dalglish is not the right man to bring you success in the PL:
        1) He is to conservative when it comes to picking his team, pardon my french but what the fuck is Charlie Adam doing playing regularly in your midfield (I know he’s out for the season now)? Why not use the talented guys who may have a bright future like Shelvey and use Henderson in midfield not right wing, instead of using this guy Adam who is definitely not good enough for you guys. Dalglish seams to have put faith in some guys like Adam and for some reason he’s very reluctant to bench them, even though their performance is not what Liverpool fans expect from their players.

        2) Very reluctant to make substitutions even though the team is struggling in games.

        3) IMO not good enough in the market. Downing, Adam and Carroll are all guys that have not been good enough. Downing and Carroll very expensive. Of course they can all improve and most likely they will, but today it seams like they are failures. I was very tempted to include Henderson in this but I actually think that he’s going to be a one heck of a player for you, so he’s not included even though his performance has not been top notch. I partially blame Dalglish for playing him on the right wing, which is clearly not his favorite position.

        4) Very often dodgy decision making when it comes to formation. Liverpool can not play 3-5-2 a system that has been deployed in too many games. Playing that formation you need three very mobile centre backs and Carragher is certainly not mobile anymore. I sometimes get the feeling that Dalglish doesn’t now the strengths and weaknesses of his players very well.

        5) How I handles the media. These past few weeks he’s been answering the media in a ridiculous manner, implying that winning isn’t everything and so on. Saying stuff like: “It’s not true that you should only look at the league table. Judging by league positions is disrespectful.”
The whole Evra vs Suarez saga was also ridiculous handling by Dalglish.

I simply don’t rate him highly as a manager today, but of course he has done good things in managing but that was almost 20 years ago.

Maybe he just needs another season, like you said there has been a lot of rebuilding and of course these things take time, but at the moment I’m not seeing any improvement at your club, because the league is the most important. Everybody knows that. But if he wins the FA cup, then maybe he’s on the right track :-D I guess we will see.

I’m a Manchester United fan myself, but not a Liverpool hater or anything like that. The only club I sincerely dislike is Chelsea mostly because of John Terry. But I hate most losing to Liverpool because there’re a lot of Liverpool fans in Iceland and they can be obnoxious when you guys win us.

      • Hjortur Halldorsson says:

Just so we’re clear I never said that Dalglish or any other member of your club was a racist. I certainly do not believe that.

Dalglish just shouldn’t have made it out like Evra was a liar. He should have taken a more diplomatic approach and simply say that there was a misunderstanding simply because of different language and different culture. Then the club should have apologize to Evra, but say that Suarez meant to harm. This should have been done just a couple of days after the game and then this thing would have been a whole different story.

And btw my opinion is my opinion, not something that I get from the English press which I think is absolutely rubbish. I can have an opinion of players just by watching them play, thank you very much.

You are clearly disillusioned when comes to your club and that’s fine by me. Adam is not a good player and Downing has not been performing to his standards. Carroll is maybe similar to Vieri in style, but he’s nowhere near in the same class and probably never will be.

I can also tell you that most fans from opposition teams do not think that Dalglish is a world class manager.

Haha shame on me? You are something else I tell you. Shame on you for not respected other peoples opinions and for always assuming the worst in people, you classless prick.

It’s good that you do not comment under your real name because you are an embarrassment to yourself. Enjoy the game btw. I hope to see Newcastle ripping you apart. Then after the game I can watch Dalglish cry about how you are always so unlucky and that refs are against you. You are such a poor defenseless victims. Poor little things.

Liverpool is having their worst run in the PL for 20 years btw, thanks to your beloved Dalglish and your talented squad.

      • Hjortur Halldorsson says:

haha nice dive by Carroll against his boyhood club, he has obviously been too much around Suarez.

      • Hjortur Halldorsson says:

Are you watching this game? Haha I absolutely love this :-D

      • Hjortur Halldorsson says:

Haha Reina sent off and Enrique taken over. Hahaha this is so fantastic, I wouldn’t even have dared to dream a scenario like this.

      • Hjortur Halldorsson says:

Haha again you make the assumption that I get my opinion from the British tabloids. You are a magnificent person and very good at making a strong case for your argument. Actually you’re not because you don’t get your facts straight, you fool.

1)Suarez doesn’t have black grandmother, he has a black grandfather :-D
        2) Evra has never before complained about racism towards him. In the Finnan case it was a deaf supporter who though he saw the N word come out of Finnan’s mouth when speaking to Evra. It was the supporter who reported that, not Evra.
In the Chelsea case it was a coach at Man Utd who said that a ground staff at Chelsea called Evra the N word, Evra actually said that he did not hear it.

Dalglish is a tool and so is your club and you a long with it. Congrats on yet another loss.

      • Hjortur Halldorsson says:

There is no point arguing with you because your head is so far up your ass that you can’t see clearly and obviously can’t speak about your club in a intellectual manner.
Dalglish is going to destroy your club he just needs a little more time to do it. I hope he get’s it.

      • Hjortur Halldorsson says:

Are you really comparing winning the PL trophy and qualifying for the CL to winning the CC (possibly FA cup to) and qualifying for EL?

OK you are obviously a more of a basket case then I thought.

  23. jbeamazing says:

yea it isn’t that hard to tell overroid shoots that barry bonds is it no but is he still doing it thats the Q&A folks
