Overeem No Longer Interested In Self Imposed Drug Testing | UFC NEWS

Alistair Overeem jumped through hoops to prove he was worthy of a Nevada State fighting license. So much so that he imposed an aggressive, self imposed drug testing campaign to prove his body mass is not the result of banned substances.

However, now that those questions have been answered, passed all his tests and received his license to fight, the UFC’s top 3 heavyweight fighter says no more…

“Well I did drug testing with my management, said Overeem during the UFC 156 media call. If it’s necessary for me to do more drug testing I’ll do that. If not, I’ll probably not. It’s something that I’ll have to take up with my management.”

This guy is a joke. Your gunna have your manager test you? What to make sure you don’t use too much?

    • Dana White says:

You’re an idiot. Once Overeem becomes the heavyweight champion, he will stay there for a long time. Nobody can beat him.

      • leugim41004 says:

Dude stfu. Overoid is over rated and will get killed via gassing out to Cain Velasquez.

      • some guy says:

thats probably the dumbest comment i have ever seen!! OverROID is a joke, if he SHOULD win the belt (which i highly doubt he will) he will test dirty and his belt will be taken from him the guy is a clown! only fought once in the UFC and tests positive for steroids hahaha CLOWN!!!

        • Dana White says:

I bet everyone bigger than you, you claim to be on steroids. You are such a pussy. Genetics play a huge role in weight lifting and obviously Overeem was gifted with good genes. Don’t be a pathetic bitch and call the guy out on a website. He won’t test dirty ever again. Besides, he had a legitimate reason for his last test. Learn MMA before you type.

        • Null says:

How can anyone think it’s genetics…did you see this guy in pride? He was a lanky 205er when shogun KO’d him twice.

Now he’s a roided up heavyweight, who dodge a test during his first fight, had elevated levels after that first fight, probably will get popped again.

Most MMA/K-1 fights held in the east don’t test for PEDs at all, so he could have shot up in-between rounds and no one would have cared.

None of that matters, he doesn’t have a jaw and both Cain and JDS could knock him out.

        • some guy says:

this is the statement Alistair Overeem made:
          “To my friends and fans,
I am deeply saddened to announce that on Friday, April 20, I respectfully withdrew from the May 26 event so that I can request a continuance until my situation with the Nevada State Athletic Commission is resolved.

I cannot express how sorry I am to the Commission, Junior Dos Santos, the fans, the owners and employees of the UFC, my friends and family and anyone else who this has affected.

I absolutely do not believe in, nor do I use performance-enhancing drugs. I am a clean fighter and I will do whatever it takes to prove this to everyone.

Prior to the UFC 146 press conference in March, I aggravated an old rib injury on my left side. My doctor prescribed, and I accepted, an anti-inflammatory medication that was mixed with testosterone. I was completely unaware that testosterone was one of the ingredients in the medication. Although I was unaware, I do realize it is my job to know what I am putting into my body.

I respect the Nevada Commissioners and Executive Director Keith Kizer and what they are doing to keep the sport of mixed martial arts regulated and safe for athletes. I look forward to working with them in the days and weeks ahead.

Friends and fans, I ask for your patience as I work through this matter. Please support me. I promise to return to the Octagon soon.”

he would do ANYTHING to prove that he is not a dirty fighter and yet he says “Well I did drug testing with my management, said Overeem during the UFC 156 media call. If it’s necessary for me to do more drug testing I’ll do that. If not, I’ll probably not. It’s something that I’ll have to take up with my management.” he is dirty and he will fail another test he is a cheater and a fraud but whatever keep riding his nuts dana white you dumb fuck! let him come back let him fight JDS and i cant wait to watch JDS knock his head clean off his body!

      • Big Wig says:

Overeem would get stomped on by both JDS and Overeem. You are delusional, Mr Dana White. And you also suck cock.

      • Louie Zanders says:

I think you may be a little over your head with this one. All do respect, overeem has been around the game for a while, but he hasn’t fought with guys like these. The HW division is stacked with dangerous guys. If he can get pass Big Country, Carwin, JDS and Cain (just to mention a few) then he’ll really prove that he is top stuff.

    • showstopper says:

you must be on METH FOOL, who can beat him at this time?

  2. Alistair Connell says:

Not backing up the guy just because he has my name, even though it is cool. But the guy came through clean for a year, making sure that he proved everyone wrong by personally – PERSONALLY managing his own tests every what, two months? Never had a drop of excess once, and look. He hasn’t deflated like you do when you get off. That claim about the doctor giving him foul play meds seems like its coming through with flying colors now.

Plus, WHO CARES? He’s number 3 in the world, he could piss pure steroids, but if he’s popular enough the UFC would still smuggle him in somehow, sometime. Big name fighters bring in big dollars, that’s what everything is all about in the end.

  3. Shaking says:

yup lets have the manager test him to check if the roids are un detected and if they are lets pretend he hurt his foot etc.. you wanna know why all of these injurys lately in the ufc ? will I hope this answers it all.

  4. joec says:

I have to say, UFC/MMA needs to sought this PEDs isues out quick smart.
Do any casual fans want to watch the tour de france anymore? No!! Because we’ve found out that the last decade has been a farce!!
Overreem was caught with high testostorone levels while he was training. Now, there is NO way anyone can tell if he was doping or not…(this is a fact!!).. These testostorone tests are very ficle, from what I’ve been told/read. However, just look at the change in his body over the last few years…
I’m no doctor so I wont speculate if it is true or not…
So I suppose with MMA atm, all we can do is take the blood tests after a fight and see whats what.
Personally, I’d like to believe that Reem is clean and ready to fight….
If there is anything for these fighters to learn from Armstrong, it is that no matter how long after the fact, they WILL get caught. It is just not worth the eventual embarrassment.

  5. ThousandDemons says:

I’m going to leave the hype and so forth out of my comment.
I’m simply going to say: I like Overeem’s talent, and that it was a shame that he tested positive, either because he was legitimately on steroids, or because of medicine prescribed by his doctor.
I hope that he DOES come back to fight, and that he ISN’T dirty this time round. I just want to see a good, CLEAN, fight between 2 great fighters. To be honest, I’m sure that’s ALL anyone wants from this.

  6. Time To Wrestle says:

I could care less if this guy or ANY fighter has or is using PED’s. I just want to see him beat the crap outta these UFC hw’s. First one after this fight is hopefully JDS. Overroid won’t get beat by anybody in the UFC’s hw’s today.

  7. ThousandDemons says:

To add to that, I agree with Overeem although, if he’s being dishonest, this will be to his detriment. By this, I mean, to keep it clean, forget SELF-IMPOSED drug testing(as “Shaking” seemed to be saying, why trust the manager to impose the tests?), make it RANDOM, MANDATORY testing!

  8. YOU KNOW WUTS SAD? says:

THIS IS GUNA BE LIKE BELFORT VS BISPING, ONCE OVERREEM IS GOING TO WIN , AND THIS IS GUNNA BE SAD, YALL ARE GUNA BE SO QUIET WE GUNA HEAR THE CRIKETS MOTHERFUCKERS

  9. Pathetic sh!t talking losers < Overeem says:

You guys have no knowledge of what MMA is about, what fighters take to train for a high level MMA fight, and what it takes to be great, because the kids talking shit on Reem are losers that still ask there mom for 20 dollars for a bag of weed.

You guys are nothing but lucky sperm cells that created you into a lifeless loser that will never turn into anything.

Moral of the story: Reem will KO cain in 1 round, he is virtually unbeatable for the next 5 fights, roids or no roids.

btw Cains name came up in a roid investigation, adn every college wrestler i know juices.

    FKING MORONS HAHAHHAHAHA SO PATHETIC

  10. Coby says:

Look if this was the olympics then fair enough, steroids mean you can train harder and recover faster so for brute strength events that’s a clear advantage.

HOWEVER this sport is not about brute strength, it’s about technical skill. He packed on some muscle and moved up to heavyweight.. good for him. Is that enough to win and retain the belt.. NO!

Brock was the strongest man to ever enter the octagon, did he have KO power like his rivals?Does Anderson knock people out because he’s the strongest guy in his division? And let’s not forget Anderson still beat Chael when he was on “steroids”.. equally an uppercut from JDS will still put Overeem to sleep.
