Overeem Going To NSAC In Search Of Conditional License To Face JDS In December | UFC NEWS
“I want to fight Dos Santos, I want to get that belt. And recently I read an interesting interview that Dos Santos wants to fight me over Cain [Velasquez]. So, I’m all for it and I think Dana White likes the idea too. And of course the fans are very important. So, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens in the next couple weeks.
A very important factor is my license. I’m not licensed yet to fight, so of course the UFC cannot promote anything. I gotta get my license first. And I’m now scheduled to, uh. I’m able to reapply for my license in December a couple days before the fight. But we have a strategy. We’re going to go in front of the commission sooner with the argument of good behavior. We have been doing random tests on our own. They were all witnessed by an independent doctor. In the hope of getting a license sooner. I think we will get it sooner. Maybe a conditional license that I have to appear and do some random tests.
We have a set date this month [to appear before the commission]. Nothing [is] confirmed, we’re gonna try and get it. Hopefully we will.”

Overeem is a one dimensional fighter? K-1 Champ yes. But he is also Abu Dabi champ european circuit. he has more submission wins then knockout wins. he has pretty good takedowns. one dimensional is just… its jut incorrect lol. he’s one of the most well rounded heavyweight fighters out there. JDS are for more one dimensional. Average kicks with good punches. Good takedown but we dont really know how good his actual ground game is. dont question overeems wel roundedness. he’s extremely well rounded.

K1 champ, Strikeforce champ, dismantled Brock Lesner faster than anyone else. He doesn’t deserve the shot??? Quite honestly he never should have had to face Brock in the first place, not saying he will win (I do think he will though) but he does damn sure deserve a shot, he has never been caught juicing after a fight (I stress after) and his argument was sound enough that they NSAC NEVER suspended him, basically they copped to the fans thinking he was a juicer and just told him they wouldn’t give him a license at this time and said don’t fight anywhere else and come back in 9 months, had they suspended him it would have been 12 months not 9. Had NSAC had hard evidence I can guarantee they would have dropped a 12 month suspension on him without hesitating.
JDS should enjoy the belt while he can, he won’t be holding it if this fight magically happens..

I honestly think overeem is the best heavyweight in the world. It wouldnt be wise for JDS to let overeem get confident and be aggressive around the ring. Overeem can literally end JDS with more than a punch. Althought i can see overeem being caught by one of JDS whipping punches and it could be all over.

He doesn’t deserve a title shot. Least Cain isn’t a cheater. As much as I’d rather see JDS/Overeem, JDS/Velasquez needs to happen. Like I said, give him at least two high profile fights testing before and after each, then give him a title shot should he win them both. Then have strict testing for the title shot. He shouldn’t be let off this easy, it isn’t fair to not only the rest of the division, but to every other fighter out there that doesn’t cheat. What message does this send other fighters? ok let me st the record straight. the ufc needs to do a double elimination tournament style for each division, then the fights will be spread out and just as interesting, th super fights will mean more. Did Overeem cheat? (clears throat) kind of. Nobody can honestly say that he himself purposely did it, but we can say he did fail the test. I would like Cain Velasquez to face fabricio werdum or Stephen Struve first, get another win against somebody who has dimensions that pose a threat. The the winner of Overeem vs JDS will fight Cain.
