Overeem Going To NSAC In Search Of Conditional License To Face JDS In December | UFC NEWS

“I want to fight Dos Santos, I want to get that belt. And recently I read an interesting interview that Dos Santos wants to fight me over Cain [Velasquez]. So, I’m all for it and I think Dana White likes the idea too. And of course the fans are very important. So, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens in the next couple weeks.

A very important factor is my license. I’m not licensed yet to fight, so of course the UFC cannot promote anything. I gotta get my license first. And I’m now scheduled to, uh. I’m able to reapply for my license in December a couple days before the fight. But we have a strategy. We’re going to go in front of the commission sooner with the argument of good behavior. We have been doing random tests on our own. They were all witnessed by an independent doctor. In the hope of getting a license sooner. I think we will get it sooner. Maybe a conditional license that I have to appear and do some random tests.

We have a set date this month [to appear before the commission]. Nothing [is] confirmed, we’re gonna try and get it. Hopefully we will.”

While talkingto Spike TV’s MMA Uncensored, Alistair OVereem, shared his plans to try and get himself back into the UFC title picture.

will it work?

  1. stephen riddle says:

I hope he gets it and jds can finally shut this fucker up. Anyways this fight is not even promised to him yet, i would like a number one contender match with cain vs overeem, i really dont think he would get past cain

    • The Truth says:

I could not agree more with steve he would not get past cain overeem is a one dimensional juicer

      • uncool_dude says:

ha ha ha ha gooby please

      • Robert Jenkins says:

Overeem is a one dimensional fighter? K-1 Champ yes. But he is also Abu Dabi champ european circuit. he has more submission wins then knockout wins. he has pretty good takedowns. one dimensional is just… its jut incorrect lol. he’s one of the most well rounded heavyweight fighters out there. JDS are for more one dimensional. Average kicks with good punches. Good takedown but we dont really know how good his actual ground game is. dont question overeems wel roundedness. he’s extremely well rounded.

        • Calvin says:

hes like martin kampmann almost dubbed a striker yet he has the subs which are just as dangerous

      • nothingstopstheREEMtrain says:

one of the most stupid posts i have ever read

      • Steve B says:

        You guys are smoking crack.

  2. xhoochiex says:

I honestly don’t care who wins I just want to see this fight badly!

  3. OakCliffTopdog says:

I hope he doesnt get a conditional license. He messed up and should do the full term of his suspension. I’d rather see Cain vs 2Santos II because I believe Cain will dominate him in the rematch. He just got caught which could happen to anybody. Cain by 4th rd. TKO GNP!!!

  4. Mario Castro says:

Overeem is a sick mofo but man he doesnt deserve the title shot.

    • sickofitall says:

Cain just got handled by JDS. He does not deserve an almost instant rematch with JDS. Too much hype for Cain due to lame tattoo.

      • Gabi says:

That’s not a tattoo anyone can wear. It’s earned. I’ve seen Mexicans beat the shit and then knife that tattoo off another Mexican who hadn’t earned it in AZ (pretty fucking nasty btw). Just like how every race has some tats that can only be earned.

      • Mario Castro says:

A true MMA fan would give the rematch to Cain rather than give Overeem the tile shot. Were talking about a damn cheater here, and this is a fan who’s followed Overeem. He wants a shot let him work for it again. Give him Werdum again lets see if he can finish him with his 40 extra pounds of whoopass like he said he would and never did.

        • Mike b says:

Best comment on here.good job bro. That last fight with werdum didn’t prove much and brock, really.he hasent fought the best yet at heavyweight in mma.and he fucked up his title shot with JDS in may.all of the other top heavyweights have fights booked already.so give him Cain,he will smash overeem into the fucking canvas.overeem is a great fighter without a doubt but I think overeem is a bit overrated if u ask me.

    • J Dog says:

K1 champ, Strikeforce champ, dismantled Brock Lesner faster than anyone else. He doesn’t deserve the shot??? Quite honestly he never should have had to face Brock in the first place, not saying he will win (I do think he will though) but he does damn sure deserve a shot, he has never been caught juicing after a fight (I stress after) and his argument was sound enough that they NSAC NEVER suspended him, basically they copped to the fans thinking he was a juicer and just told him they wouldn’t give him a license at this time and said don’t fight anywhere else and come back in 9 months, had they suspended him it would have been 12 months not 9. Had NSAC had hard evidence I can guarantee they would have dropped a 12 month suspension on him without hesitating.

  5. DMAC says:

JDS should enjoy the belt while he can, he won’t be holding it if this fight magically happens..

  6. Zack says:

Reem sounded so guilty and stupid on mma unsensored last night.

  7. Xaninho says:

Damn he is doing some mad brown-nosing…. NSAC must like this, they’re on a powertrip and Overeem is giving them just what they want.

  8. Secludedly says:

I love JDS, but he wouldn’t still be defending his title if he fought Overeem. Overeem is going to destroy him when they meet up.

    • Tossers says:

I honestly think overeem is the best heavyweight in the world. It wouldnt be wise for JDS to let overeem get confident and be aggressive around the ring. Overeem can literally end JDS with more than a punch. Althought i can see overeem being caught by one of JDS whipping punches and it could be all over.

    • joseph says:

thats crazy do u even watch ufc clearly overeem is gonna get his ass handed to him JDS all day

  9. blahblahblah says:

Well, Kizer pretty much put this one to bed and basically said “No.” in a roundabout way.

  10. Sugar Ponybear says:

He doesn’t deserve a title shot. Least Cain isn’t a cheater. As much as I’d rather see JDS/Overeem, JDS/Velasquez needs to happen. Like I said, give him at least two high profile fights testing before and after each, then give him a title shot should he win them both. Then have strict testing for the title shot. He shouldn’t be let off this easy, it isn’t fair to not only the rest of the division, but to every other fighter out there that doesn’t cheat. What message does this send other fighters? It’s cool to cheat as long as you win while you do it. But Nick Diaz is fucked for smoking weed…smh, bullshit is what this is.

  11. Xaninho says:

I take that back. I really shouldn’t comment, I really sound uneducated. Fitch forever!!!!!

  12. Drew says:

Reem just quit it already Dana and Lorenzo aren’t gonna say hey Cain we’re gonna push back ur rematch so Jds can ko a roider

  13. Gaylord Focker says:

is that a picture of an escaped ape from madagascar? A promotional photo for KingKong 2? Or a photo of roid dozed Mr. T?

  14. Mike b says:

K-1 is not mma so that don’t count.strikeforce,ur joking right.and Brock lesnar.great accomplishments but the UFC is a whole different animal.he needs to prove himself in the UFC.give him Cain,at least give him carwin or Mir,fuck it give him big nog, another fight with werdum.give him something to prove himself in the UFC.beating Brock then failing a drug test should not give him a title shot.

    • Brian says:

He never failed a drug test. His e:t ratio was elevated. That is not failing a drugtest. You’re just making up shit now.

    • Marc says:

Prompts Mike b. The UFC talks a good game but $ speak. Here is the perfect opportunity to prove and send a clear message to fighters, “if you fail the testing serve you suspension and work your way back to the top.” Dana make up your mind already an put a ranking system in the UFC. How do you know who gets a title fight? The fighter with the most wins at the top & not who blows you better.

  15. Will says:

It’s funny how you post fake stories credited to Dave Meltzer but when it’s a story he’s got far more details on (the hearing not happening), you don’t report it.

  16. sam-i-am says:

overeem is a beast fuck cain he got knock out in the first minute of the fight give the fans what they want JDS vs Alistair overeemand who ever said overeem is a one dimensional fighter is a dumb ass look at his record more subs then ko’s and his never been busted for steroids ever you dumb fucks

  17. mrperfect88 says:

ok let me st the record straight. the ufc needs to do a double elimination tournament style for each division, then the fights will be spread out and just as interesting, th super fights will mean more. Did Overeem cheat? (clears throat) kind of. Nobody can honestly say that he himself purposely did it, but we can say he did fail the test. I would like Cain Velasquez to face fabricio werdum or Stephen Struve first, get another win against somebody who has dimensions that pose a threat. The the winner of Overeem vs JDS will fight Cain. I know people are going to be pissed at my prediction, but based on both careers im taking Alistar to be champ in 2013, 3rd round tko or submission

  18. CombatRusse says:

    Fuck Overeem!
The UFC should feed him to Cormier, he’ll get destroyed
Even Carwin, if healthy, may send that mother fucker back to K1, where Bader Hari will get back from retirement to Knock him out again (I know a lot of may be here lol)
