UFC NEWS – Okami Books Boetsch For UFC In Japan

Japans most successful UFC fighter, Yushin Okami is planning on bringing the pain to his native soil in 2012 when the UFC heads to Japan in February.
“UFC Japan”, while not yet made official by the promotion, is expected to go down on February 26 live from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. As of current date, the event is expected to be headlined by a lightweight title fight between champion Frankie Edgar and challenger Benson Henderson.
Okami will fight for the first time since losing his bid at the UFC middleweight title against Anderson Silva at this year’s “UFC Rio”. Widely considered as Japans most successful import, Okami has beaten some of the best in the division including, Nate Marquardt and Mark Munoz.
Boetsch is a relative newcomer to the UFC’s middleweight division. After mixed results at light-heavyweight he made he is now 2-0 in the 185 pound division and will take on Okami in an effort to prove he can hang with division’s elite. “The Barbarian” is 6-1 in his last 7 fights with his lone loss coming way of Phil Davis.

I doubt this fight will be anywhere near as exciting as Guida/Bendo but i still enjoy some good ground fighting.. I think Okami wins it, hes better in most areas in my opinion, but i wouldnt be surprised if he pulled off the upset.
Okami better redeem himself after that lame fkn performance in rio.. wanted to see Okami v munoz! Okami FTW!
