Nogueira, ‘Shogun’ verbally agree to fight in June | UFC News

Two legendary light heavyweight look to be meeting up once again.
According to a report by the Brazilian media outlet Tatame, both UFC Light Heavyweight champ Mauricio “Shogun’ Rua and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira have verbally committed to fighting sometime in June at a location yet unnamed.
The two last fought at Pride Critical Countdown 2005 where Shogun earned a victory via a unanimous decision.
Rua (21-7) is in need of a win, having lost two of his last three.. He is coming off a major loss to Swedish up-and-comer Alexander Gustafsson at UFC on FOX 5 this past December. Rua defeated Brandon Vera in August at UFC on Fox 4. Rua fell to Dan Henderson in November of 2011.
On the other side, Nogueira (21-5) is on a bit of a roll, winning two straight, including a decision over former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans last month at UFC 156. Nogueira defeated Tito Ortiz in December of 2011.
Nogueira has wanted this rematch for some time and with ‘Shogun’ in desperation mode, fireworks almost assured.
