Nick Diaz makes stunning admission after UFC 158: “I’ve never paid taxes in my life.” | UFC NEWS

Nick Diaz is one of the most outspoken fighters, if not person, the UFC has ever employed. It makes him an interesting person to follow as a journalist, because you never know what he’s going to say or do. At the UFC 158 post fight press conference Nick Diaz announced to the world that he has never paid a dime to the IRS.

Diaz: “No, I can’t be jumpin’ teams. I just have to invest a little more…you know, now that I have a little bit more…you know, I’ve never paid taxes in my life, I’m probably gonna go to jail. (media laughs) That’s not because I don’t have, that’s not because – what, nobody wants to hear about that, nobody wants to hear about that kind of talk, or what’s really going on with me. But I might as well just be a kid, you know, I’ve had fight after fight after fight after fight, you know. You don’t know what that does to someone who didn’t graduate high school. You don’t understand. Everyone has to take that – well, nobody has to do shit, but you can take that into consideration for a second, think about what three fights a year will do to you your whole life. And the only time you have some time off is, like a vacation, everyone’s telling you you’re this piece of shit, suspended, you know, you ain’t fightin’ this guy, you ain’t fightin’ that guy. You’re gonna come back and have to dance around with a bunch of hard-hitting people. It’s just not…it’s just…it’s a rough sport.”

An interesting time to make such an admission, some may even joke that GSP beat him into admitting his wrong doings. Jokes aside the IRS is not something you want to mess with, this is anything but a laughing matter. According to the UFC and Strikeforce, Diaz has made a disclosed amount of $800,000 for his fights since 2011, which is not including UFC 158.

If it is true he has not paid anything in taxes…ever, well you can bet the IRS will be looking at all the money he has earned since he turned pro in 2001. The IRS is an entity that goes after people whom do not pay or cheat on their taxes with no remorse, and love to get celebrities.

One person that is willing to help Diaz is UFC President Dana White. This is what White said to ESPN:

“At the end of the day, Nick has been in the sport forever. He wanted a shot at the title, he got a shot at the title and he got paid a lot of money for it. What’s sad is he better go pay those taxes, a soon as he gets that check.”

White said he may speak to Diaz’s lawyer to see if he can help.

Maybe this explains the pictures he tweeted and instagramed the night after UFC 158.

  2. KIDD433 says:

Just when I thought Diaz couldn’t be any more stupid.

  3. 757 says:

Wow guys ease u. Over 49% of your general population do not pay taxes or lie on them. This kid could possibly be the product of what he was taught. Let’s take a look at how many shit bag fathers aren’t around (like his) to ever teach these kids something. I will give it to you that he is old enough to take responsibility for his actions but before you go slamming somebody for their misgivings we should take a look at ourselves first. I actually feel bad for this guy. Can you imagine how much money that lawyers, management, and even the UFC and Strikeforce took from him?……sad I hope somebody helps him. The author should be ashamed of himself too! ****ed up way to get some buzz of of someones mishap

    • squid says:

agreed. great job of trying to stay objective. we all have flaws, some more than others . . . but before we throw stones, we should look inside first

  4. Yomama says:

Maybe he meant that he never filed himself? People who assume without factual basis are more dumb than the guy who is speaking off the cuff.

    • David says:

Then he’d better hope his “manager” Cesar Gracie filed them for him. But judging by Cesar’s general lack of responsibility and pension for flat out lying, I highly doubt it. I hope Nick will enjoy working at his uncle’s diner cause he’s gonna be flat broke owing the IRS millions.

  5. 757 says:

    ^^^correct good comment! I agree

  6. Joye says:

Who cares this has nothing to do with us.

  7. 757 says:

That’s why you are who you are^^^^^

  8. Ddddddd says:

Man the only things that are worse for a standup brawler than Goerges are penalties and interest. It’s a fair assumption Nick is behind in taxes and not just worried he hadn’t filed them himself considering he’s worried about jail time. It f$ckin
sucks having that running in the background. I’ll bet there’s a
good financial consultant that would barter for some boxing lessons.

  9. GRT 3000 says:

he’s been doing this 12 years, someone has been doing his taxes for him and he definitely only said this to get more attention.

  12. 757 says:

All of you who are blasting on him probably have your parents do your taxes and most of you don’t work….dicks. I agree with car dee oh. You other **** ups don’t pay your taxes either or do other stupid shit so shut the **** up
