Nick Diaz: "BJ is my favorite fighter"
http://youtu.be/pozLJlM4xYQ
“He’s my favorite fighter. He’s better than they are, he’s better than everybody. I know where he came from. He came from my school, as far as I’m concerned he came from where I came from and that’s why he’s here.”

Nick Diaz is an exciting and excellent fighter. People will talk shit but at least he can back it up. It’s cool that he shows respect to a great fighter like B.J. Penn.
The recognition keeps a comin! PENN NATION!!!!!
Seriously, two of my favorite fighters all time.
Similar in many ways. Fearless. Strong striking and jiujitsu. Knockout Power. Submission skills. And both don’t like to take shit from Dana.
+1
Ditto
Ditto, these guys always put on a great performance.
i agree Digs…. people hate on my boy Diaz but but u can not learn what Bj and Nick got in a gym… Ur born with it… These boys are bar none my all time heros of MMA! Been watching them for 15 years!
Man I LOVE THESE TWO FIGHTERS! DAMN SON!
I gotta say, he’s growing on me.
I know right?
Im glad to see comments like this. Diaz is a good guy and im glad people are coming around to him.
business is business…dana marketing the business, why put two fights that can sell each other out seperately on the same card…seperatem…pierre’s not injured, the card doesnt have enuff 2 pay out the fighters…so theyll have there own main event card on another card…
i see that too. paying BJ and GSP on the same show is gonna make Dana feel the pinch financially
I don’t think he stays awake at night worring about fighters pay.
I agree. If he was hurting, he wouldn’t given away velazquez/dos Santos free in Fox…
He made a ton of cash putting it on fox …just sayin with all the sponsorships and commercials hardly giving it away free.
both got balls to back up whatever they feel is right for themselves. clearly they both don’t take any form of PEDs. just look at their physique. unlike some fakes who’s body are so defined!
Not necessarily. It is possible to see if someone is taking steroids just by looking at them. Guys in the WWE certainly look it. Im not saying you could tell if anyone in the UFC was on roids, but its still possible to tell.
Diaz is one of my faves but sorry your gonna get schooled so bad dog. Its gonna be a war tho. go BJ Penn!!
No matter how much of an a-hole Diaz can be, you can’t deny him respect as a fighter. Props to him in that regard. This bout is going to be epic. Whoever wins, will definitely solidify themselves in the top rankings in all of MMA, not just the UFC.
Wow that was about the best most respectful interview/statement iv seen from either diaz brothers, i know nick will make a good fight of it but i think bj will find a way to win.
Nate actually is respectful alot in his interviews…Nate’s personality is alot more likable than Nicks but I think they’re both growing up alot. Awhile ago in an interview with Nate he was asked about if he gets Gray how he’ll feel about a title shot against BJ and he said he wouldn’t fight bj cause he respects him so much and they trained together.
Dude just officially call this “UFC 137: Just Scrap” already!!! LOL
Lol hell yea
LOVE BOTH OF THEMCUZ THEY GO IN THERE TO FIGHT AND TO WIN NOT TO SCORE ****IN POINTS LIKE SOME DAMN WRESTLERS, I GIVE THESE 2 CATS MUCH LOVE ,CREDIT AND RESPECT…AND MAY THE BEST MAN WIN!!!! I AINT CHOOSING NO ONE THIS TIME……..
Dana should make Penn- Diaz fight five rounds for the interim title. So the winner can face off with the winner of GSP-Condit fight for the Welterweight Belt…
I would love that as well even thou I doubt they will give it to us or them.
penn vs condit=#2 contender, diaz vs fitch=#1 contender, winner of #2 contender gets kosh…winner of #1 contender gets gsp…how dat sound !!!penn and condit aint even on top 5 welterweight….
Best interview for nick..hope he doesn’t get hurt too bad! Bj FTW..
I always liked Diaz..
Nick Diaz has shown, once more, that he is a top rate sportsman. I enjoy watching him, and his borther Nate, fight almost as much as I enjoy watching BJ. I will almost hate to see him lose to BJ.
much respect,thats classy
Neither of these two are losing any fans the night of this fight that’s for sure
sounds like the ufc chopped the **** out of this video lol. there is not one “ya know” comming from him in this interview lol. It’s kool that he puts aside his ass hole side to give respect where respect is due.
Hes not an asshole. Your interpretation of some of the things he says and does paints him an asshole but others see it differently. I think hes truthful and I have always respected him. Because he doesnt play the corporate game it doesnt mean hes an asshole.
dont be scared homie!
cant wait this is going to be fight of the year with both guy showing each other love at the end of the third round, yes it will go the distance because these two have too much heart tow be stoped but if its changed to 5 rounds then thats a different story
Yep, as BJ Penn & Co. stated in that VideoBlog posting last month:
“(Nick Diaz) is one of the most misunderstood guys in MMA, period.”
This is gonna be a mad fight! Neither one of these guys have been PROPERLY finished AND they go out to finish their fights! My money is on this fight going the distance.
I think Mayhem is his second favorite fighter….now that’s a fight I would like to see.
