Munoz Will Call Out Anderson Silva With Win Over Weidman At UFC on Fuel 4 | UFC News
By Jamie McAllister
Mark Munoz in an interview with MMAWeeklyRadio.
Munoz is set to face Chris Weidman in a bout which may determine the next Middleweight number one contender at UFC on Fuel 4.
Munoz wants to defeat Middleweight contender Chris Weidman decisively at UFC on Fuel 4. He also states that with the victory he will call out the UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva.
“I think that’s setting it up to where should I win that fight, I should be getting a title shot. I’m looking to win the fight, I’m looking to win it with flying colors, and I’m definitely going to be requesting after the fight a title shot,”
Munoz states that in the past he has let his fighting do the talking but come UFC on Fuel 4 he’s going to be more vocal.
“The thing is I’ve always said that I’m going to let my fighting do the talking, and my fighting has done the talking, but now I’m going to do both. I’m going to state my case. I’m going to let the fighting do the talking and I’m also going to verbalize it and say I deserve a title shot.”
Munoz believes he is at the peak of his powers and there is no better time for him to challenge for the Middleweight Title.
“I do feel that this is my time. I do feel that all the events leading up to this point have actually culminated up to this point of my career. After having the career that I have had, it’s a lot of ups and downs and I think a career’s going to go through that. Mine is no different,”
Currently on a four fight win streak Munoz believes the losses to Yushin Okami and Matt Hamill have only made him stronger.
“I’ve been through the ups and downs and the times when I was down are the times where I had to get back up and climb again. Those are the times that actually made me tougher and those times are the times that are going to help me get to the top. I truly believe this is my time.”

Just another victim
This philipino asshole machine would get his ass handed to him. I dont think there is anyone in the middle weight division to challenge anderson besides chael.
That Flip would make your asshole has own, I bet he’ll even make you hold his pockets as he walks around with you. Or you’d just get knocked the **** out like Fitch
You’re the asshole man, i’m a Filipino not Philipino. why don’t you got out there and compete mma man, everyone has a dream and his dream is the belt! as far as i know there’s nothing wrong with that. Go **** fitch instead of typing foolish stuffs.
he doesnt have dream, he just wanders around in his block, waiting for some miracle. (just some lazy douchebag).
So let me get this straight. This kid hasn’t fought in front of a large audience or a decent opponent in so long and he’s going to challenge for the title? This is what’s wrong with the UFC. Build the fight up first perhaps he should have fought on the same card of Silva or something to build his name up to tbe mainstream audience. I like Munoz but this is just bad promotion.
…. but he won’t get past weidman….
I’d love to see this one. Silva is easy to take down and Munoz is good at it. Plus he has a better ground game then Sonnen. Yep, I’d like to see this too. And the amount of time Silva takes between fights this could be a good New Years beat down. I’m liking it.
If anyone were to get the next title shot, it would be Hector Lombard.
Maybe right. I’d like to see this. I’d like to see Silva counter-punch this buzzsaw. If it happens Silva will become a wrestler and take it down….
Munoz seems like a good dude man.i think he’ll beat Chris by tko with his donkey kong punches.hes a great wrestler with a KO power.i think the only guy that had a chance against silva was chael.i just don’t see anybody beating silva no time soon.hector Lombard might have a shot.but anything can happen in the sport of mma so I won’t count Munoz out.
Munoz is one of my favorites. I wish him well and hopes he gets that title. But from Anderson Silva?!? Dude thats damn near impossible. They did some training together hopefully Munoz has something he knows about Silva… You know?!? Like Evans knowing something about Jones, Yikes!! Good luck on congrats on all ur success Munoz!
