Moraga injured, Ozkilic steps in vs. Darren Uyenoyama
The UFC announced Tuesday that Moraga was pulled out of his UFC on Fox 9 preliminary card fight with Darren Uyenoyama on Dec. 14. Replacing him is Turkish-American prospect Alp Ozkilic.
Moraga (13-2) fought just once in 2013 in a fifth round armbar loss to Demetrious Johnson for the flyweight title.
Ozkilic (8-1) is a two-time NJCAA all-american wrestler out of Nassau Community College in Long Island, New York. His MMA career began in 2010, and he started out unbeaten in his first five fights. His only defeat came by decision against UFC bantamweight Chico Camus. Ozkilic has won three straight since then, including a 30 second TKO of ex-UFC and WEC fighter Antonio Banuelos.
Uyenoyama (8-4) won his UFC debut at bantamweight against Norifumi Yamamoto. He then went down to 125-pounds where he submitted Phil Harris. He followed that up by a lopsided loss to Joseph Benavidez.
Johnson and Benavidez will meet in a rematch in the main event of UFC on Fox 9.
As it stands, here is what the card looks like:
