“I want Hughes to retire. Hughes has nothing left to prove. If you look at the guys who helped us build this company, Hughes was one of them, Chuck Liddell (too), it’s hard to finally say it’s over.If He’s with us forever anyways. Hughes is one of our guys. He can keep the door open forever.”

UFC president Dana White told the media during yesterday’s UFC on FUEL TV 5 media event that he would like to see, former UFC welterweight champion, Matt Hughes retire from active competition.

Having gone 3-2 in his last five bouts, with wins over the likes of Matt Serra, Renzo Gracie and Ricardo Almeida is it fair to call for Hughes to shelf his gloves when his only losses in that span came at the hands of division standouts Josh Koscheck and BJ Penn?
