UFC middleweight Chris Weidman wants to dismiss all of this superfight talk in regards to Anderson Silva.

While the buzz in the MMA community can’t seem to get enough of the idea of Silva and either welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre or light heavyweight king Jon Jones meeting up sometime near the end of 2013, Weidman has plans to crash that party before it even starts.

Speaking after UFC 158, UFC president Dan White relayed Weidman’s thoughts on upcoming superfights.

“I talked to Chris Weidman myself. Guy looks me right in the eye and says, ‘I’m telling you, I apologize that I’m going to f*** up all your superfights,’” White told a gathering of reporters.

Weidman is slated to face Anderson Silva on July 6 in Las Vegas in the main event of UFC 162.

Weidman is 9-0 with five wins coming in the UFC. A talented grappler and submission artist, Weidman also has knockout power and is extremely well-rounded. He was a two-time Division I All-American wrestler in college. He is coming off a brutal knockout of Mark Munoz at UFC on Fuel TV in July 2012.

In Silva, Weidman faces arguably the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. Silva hasn’t lost since 2006, rattling off 17 straight wins in the process.

According to White, if Weidman defeats Silva in July, the talk of superfights all but goes away.

“If you take Anderson Silva out of the mix, the superfights are all gone,” White said and then continued Wideman’s message:  “He says, ‘I’m gonna f*** up all your superfights and I’m gonna be your next champion. ’But what I will do for you is I’ll give him an immediate rematch in Madison Square Garden as soon as (Silva) loses.’”
