Just Scrap Radio Episode 4 | Eddie Bravo & Joey "Karate" Diaz

May 9, 2012 9:17 am by Lynn R Mitchell

The 1st guest of Just Scrap Radio episode 4 is none other than Eddie Bravo.   He is a  practitioner of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu  holding a second degree black belt under Jean-Jacques Machado.  Eddie Bravo is most famous for his particular style of no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, called 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu, commentating on the UFC and music composition. In an interview he advocated marijuana as performance enhancing.  He runs his 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu school out of Legends MMA.  His notable students include Joe Rogan, Jason Chambers, Gerald Strebent, Shinya Aoki, Chuck Liddell, Matt Horwich, Jason Day, George Sotirpoulous, Matt Mitrione, Tait Fletcher, Dan Hardy and Denny Prokopos.

Eddie started his interview by saying

That Fox show was definitely one of the best UFC shows ever, man.  You have everything.

You have Nate Diaz looking unstoppable.  We were watching Nate Diaz take it to the next level and be be among the elite worldwide.

That Lavar Johnson fight was so brutal, man that was like Tommy Morrison vs Ray Mercer – total brutality.  It was exciting to see.  It sucks for Pat Barry you know.  He could’ve retired after that.  He might.  I wouldn’t hate him if he did but he took a lot of damaged and the paying people loved it.

And of course Alan Belcher fight.  That fight went as fight of all time for damn sure.  The fact that Alan Belcher was fighting from the truck position and almost had him in a twister, almost had him in a crotch ripper  all that shit you never see in the UFC

Eddie Bravo understands the hard training regimen MMA fighters go through and is in awe of Belcher’s commitment and open mind to learning new techniques.

The party begins when Joey “Karate” Diaz joins guest Eddie Bravo, host Jens Pulver and co-host Abel Pulver.

Joey “Karate” Diaz began performing in front of open mic audiences. He had appearances in Law and Order and films like Spiderman 2,   Taxi,  Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star and The Longest Yard as a prison convict named Joey the Candy Bar Criminal.

Joey also is seen in TV Episodes of My Name is Earl, and which he obtained on the basis of his own past in prison,The Mentalist “Scarlet Ribbons”  Ultimate Fighting Challenge in California where he appeared as “Joey Karate”, doing humorous promotions  and a TV movie The Dog Who saved Christmas.

The discussion maybe classified as too colorful for print but is noted to be the best show yet with these outspoken and entertaining guests fusioned with Just Scrap Radio host and co-host.
