If you ask fans to predict how a fight with Vitor Belfort (left) will end, you will most likely hear the response, ‘Fast.’  If you ask Belfort, however, about his upcoming UFC Fight Night 32 fight against Dan Henderson (right), he’ll tell you that it will be a five-round war.

Coming into his fight with MMA legend, Dan Henderson, Vitor Belfort is preparing to win a five-round war.

This is surprising for anyone who has seen Belfort fight.  The Brazilian has finished 19 of his 23 career wins with 16 of those wins coming in the very first round.  To put it quite simply, Belfort does not fight long fights.

Yet on November 9, when Belfort faces Dan Henderson at UFC Fight Night 32, he predicts that he will dominate the former Olympic wrestler for five rounds.

It’s going to be intense,” Belfort told  “I have 14 weeks until the fight, and preparation requires dedication and sacrifice.  I’ll focus on winning the fight.  I’m preparing myself for a five-round intense fight.  That’s the way I predict the fight going.”

In 33 professional fights, Belfort has never fought a five-round fight.  One thing he has done, however, is fight Dan Henderson.  The two met once before in Pride FC back in October of 2006.  Henderson won the unanimous decision.

It gives me more motivation,” Belfort said of the prior loss to Henderson.  “He’s a tough fighter, but I’ll be ready to dominate him for five rounds.

Against Henderson, Belfort will be facing a man who has fought 21 fights to a decision, three of which went five rounds, and several more took place in Pride FC when the first round lasted 10 minutes.
UFC Fight Night 32 will take place in Goiania Brazil on November 9.
