Just in case anyone doubted that Vitor Belfort was interested in the winner of this weekend’s fight between Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman, he made it clear on twitter that he believes that he deserves the next title shot. “The Phenom” recently tweeted UFC president Dana White, saying “the fans and me are very excited to see who is going to my next opponent on this Saturday I deserve the winner!”
Belfort (24-10 MMA, 13-6 UFC), has certainly made a very strong case for himself this year. Since losing to Jon Jones in a short-notice fight, Vitor has won 3 straight fights via head-kick knockout over top opponents Michael Bisping, Luke Rockhold, and Dan Henderson.
Vitor has campaigned for the title shot after each of his recent wins, but the one road block has been Dana White. However, White recently stated that “everyone wants to see” Belfort fight either Weidman or Silva. With Vitor’s stellar record this year, the fight seems all but a forgone conclusion.
@danawhite the fans and me are very excited to see who is going to my next opponent on this Saturday I deserve the winner!
