UFC’s Year-End Event Will Not Take Place This Year

By bjpenndotcom - June 27, 2014

That’s right, UFC 182 will take place on Jan. 3, 2015 instead of the usual Saturday after Christmas. According to MMAJunkie, the UFC has confirmed this date. So why the date change? Simply because the UFC doesn’t want to put on an event two days after Christmas. This year the holiday lands on a Thursday, so they moved the event to the following weekend.

As of now, the event is expected to be headlined by a UFC Lightweight title fight between champion, Anthony Pettis, and challenger, Gilbert Melendez. Since the year-end event has taken place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena since 2008, its assumed that it will be no different this time around.
