UFC’s Matt Grice Gets Skull Reattached

December 18, 2013 12:19 pm by Derek Langhorn

On the night of Sept. 8, Oklahoma City police officer and UFC featherweight Matt Grice nearly lost his life. While stopped at a red light, he was rear-ended by another driver going 65 MPH.

Grice was rushed to Oklahoma University Presbyterian Hospital that night to undergo brain surgery, and part of his skull was removed to help alleviate the pressure that was building up in his skull cavity.

After almost two months in the hospital, Grice was allowed to go home.

His recovery has been described as miraculous by his doctors, and he recently went on Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour and said he was feeling well.

Now, after another surgery, the part of his skull that was removed has been reattached, and he is on his way to a full recovery.
