March 13, 2014 6:46 pm by Brett Auten

July will be a landmark month for the UFC.

UFC President Dana White announced Thursday that the company will host – for the first time ever – back-to-back events on consecutive nights in the same venue.

The UFC will follow UFC 175, set for Saturday, July 5 at Mandalay Bay Events Center, with The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale on Sunday.

UFC 175 takes place one night prior at the same venue and airs on pay-per-view. There are currently no bouts for that card

The dual events will be part of the UFC’s International Fight Week 2014, which runs July 1-6. A UFC Fan Expo also takes place at Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

“The Ultimate Fighter 19,” debuts later this year on FOX Sports 1. Former UFC lightweight champions Frankie Edgar and B.J. Penn are coaches forthe season as middleweight and light heavyweight UFC prospects go for a six-figure UFC contract. Edgar and Penn are expected to meet in a 145-pound bout.
