"UFC success was on my blood, sweat and tears" – Brock Lesnar

By Lorenzo Luciano:

Brock Lesnar former UFC heavyweight champion, left the UFC after suffering back to back devastating loses against Cain Valesquez and current embattled heavyweight number one contender Alistair Overeem.

Lesnar joined the UFC in 2008 and left in 2011 with an MMA record of 5 wins and 3 losses. Having accomplished more in his short MMA career than what most will ever achieve in a lifetime.

Since leaving the UFC, he made his return to the WWE on the Monday Night RAW show. Fans loved him, besides he had something to say about his time in the UFC.

“Proud? I’m proud of everything I do. Let me tell you a little story. Eight years ago I left this company. I was a WWE Champion. Took this company to heights it had never seen before. Left the company, went to the UFC and became UFC Heavyweight Champion of the world. “

“Their success was on my blood, sweat and tears. Proud? Damn right I’m proud.”

Lesnar did bring in the highest pay per views the UFC has ever seen, but the UFC was already well on its way to being an established and very successful company.

What do you think? Did Lesnar’s notoriety and marketing power help make the UFC what it is now?

Is Lesnar taking too much credit?
