Khabib Nurmagomedov celebrates

Prior to Khabib Nurmagomedov injuring his ribs at the end of last year, he was booked to return to the Octagon to fight Tony Ferguson in the co-main event of The Ultimate Fighter 22 finale.

Nurmagomedov was replaced by Edson Barboza, who lost to Ferguson via 2nd round submission in what was ultimately the Fight of the Night.

Now, the UFC is reportedly once again looking to book Ferguson vs. Nurmagomedov with Michael Johnson sidelined for unknown reasons.

MMAFighting is reporting that the UFC is targeting UFC on FOX 19 on April 16th for the bout.
