| The last and final UFC on FUEL TV event closed with an exclamation point!
The ratings for the event, which featured a stacked Brazilian-heavy card, gave Fuel TV its second highest audience in the station’s history. That’s impressive considering the circumstances of the fight being hosted abroad in Brazil and many of the names, although talented fighters, were not huge drawing tools. That didn’t matter though.
Fox Sports released a ratings report earlier today detailing UFC on FUEL TV 10’s highlights, which included a solid 313,000 average viewership as well as a peak of 399,000 viewers. The peak of the viewership came during the main event when the #3 ranked heavyweight contender Fabricio Werdum submitted the legendary Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in the second round of the fight. The FOX Sports big-wigs also revealed that the Werdum-Nogueira bout was the second highest viewed fight in the history of FUEL TV. What can we say? It’s no secrete that we love ourselves a good heavyweight scrap.
This will mark the close of the FUEL TV events as FOX starts transitioning it’s UFC broadcasts to Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2 starting on August 17th. The UFC has already announced the two shows that will debut on the new stations. I’m sure that with the recent ratings reports from UFC on FUEL TV 10 the UFC is more excited than ever to launch on the new stations as more viewers will have access to view the fights. FOX’s launch of the new channels is their attempt to compete with the giants of the sports television world, such as ABC and ESPN.
