UFC on Fox 8 Adds Michael Chiesa vs. Reza Madadi

By bjpenndotcom - April 23, 2013

Another addition has been made to UFC on Fox 8 and its lightweight battle between Ultimate Fighter 15 Winner Michael Chiesa and Reza “Mad Dog” Madadi.

Chiesa is probably best known for what he can accomplish on the gound seeing as 7 of his 9 wins, in a perfect (9-0) record, have come by way of submission. Chiesa will be looking to extend his UFC streak to (3-0) when he takes on the Iranian Reza Madadi.

Madadi however, sporting a (13-3) record, is (2-1) in the UFC and is also one to look for the finish on the floor. A quick look back at UFC on Fuel TV 9 would see Reza Madadi making an astonishing comeback against fellow lightweight  “The Menace” Michael Johnson in the third round by catching him in a Brabo Choke.

If Madadi wants to prove that he is a tough lightweight competitor in one of the UFC’s most stacked divisions he will have his chance against Chiesa.

This fight has all the potential to be a grappling war once it hits the mat, but with each fighter knowing how dangerous the other is on the ground, one is left to wonder where they will decide to test their opponent once they meet in the octagon.

The bout takes place at UFC on Fox 8 on July 27th at Seattle, Washington’s KeyArena.
