UFC on FOX 6 Main Card Live Play by Play and Full Results

Sean McClure will be providing live UFC on FOX play by play for the main card, which starts at 8 PM ET tonight.

-Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson (16-2-1) vs. John Dodson (14-5)

Round 1 – Dodson out quickly. Johnson moving around very well. In an exchange Dodson clips Johnson and Demetrius drops to his knee. Dodson throws a kick and Johnson slips. Johnson is really pushing the pace now. Lots of near misses by both fighters. Johnson working really hard for a takedown and he gets a pretty nice slam. Dodson up and pressing Johnson against the cage. Lots of pawing jabs and missed punches for both fighters.

Round 2 – Johnson out really fast. Dodson lands a good small combo. Johnson shoots for a takedown and gets Dodson on his backside but only for a moment. Johnson pressuring Dodson very hard. Huge left hand by Dodson that drops Johnson momentarily. Dodson hurts Johnson and Demetrius shoots in but does not get the takedown. Dodson catches Johnson’s leg during a kick and drops him with a punch. Dodson damaging Johnson but the champ keeps coming. Johnson misses another takedown attempt. Johnson is pushing the pace very, very hard. Dodson catches another kick and drills Johnson for his effort.

Round 3 – Dodson with a jump front kick. Dodson lands a nice combination. Johnson shoots in and Dodson catches him coming in. During the takedown attempt Johnson knees Dodson in the groin. Break in the action. Johnson with a flurry, Dodson flying knee, Johnson flurry, and Dodson countering. The pace of this fight is making me tired. Johnson connects and Dodson’s counters hit nothing but air. Nice kick to the body by Dodson. Shortly after Demetrius takes Dodson down. Johnson maneuvers to half guard and nothing much happening with a minute left. Dodson up and Johnson lands a knee immediately. Johnson pressing Dodson against the cage. Counter left by Dodson to end the round.

Round 4 – Quick group of exchanges and Dodson is up to his knee with one hand down. Johnson knees a downed opponent clearly. There is a nice mouse where the knee landed. Doctors checking Dodson and he looks okay. Dodson catches a Johnson kick and makes him pay again. Johnson shoots for a takedown and has Dodson against the cage. Back to the center. Demetrius is clearly in control and landing more shots. Another takedown attempt. Dodson tries one of his own. Johnson landing knees to the head. Dodson lifting his hand and placing it back down when he gets hits with a knee strike. Dodson is out and bloody.

Round 5 – Johnson gets the clinch early and lands some nice knees. Dodson gets taken down to his backside. Demetrius pulls him down, but Dodson is up and pressing Demetrius against the cage. Johnson climbs up the front of Dodson and punches him using the fence to hold him up. Dodson trying to counter a very quick Johnson. Dodson trying to take down the fresher Johnson and gets it momentarily. Dodson misses another takedown attempt and gets a knee for his effort. Demetrius hurts Dodson and for a moment it looks like he will stop him with punches. Dodson getting kneed over and over in a Muay Thai clinch from Johnson. Demetrius landing knee after knee yet again. Dodson trying to survive and does. 199 total significant strikes for Demetrius.

-Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (32-10) vs. Glover Teixeira (19-2)

Round 1 – Swinging wildly right off the bat. Rampage throws an uncharacteristic leg kick. Glover takes Rampage down and quickly gets his back. Glover landing a big shot from the back and transitioning in to an arm triangle attempt. Rampage is up and he unloads. Head kick from Teixeira but nothing much on it. Rampage has slipped several times now. Glover is trying to close the distance but Rampage countering. Rampage eats a big right hand as Glover chases him across the cage. Glover wobbles Rampage and shortly after drops Rampage to his knees. Jackson is in survival mode. Rampage buckles Glover’s legs now with a hook of his own.

Round 2 – Glover takes Jackson down and lands in half guard. Rampage trying to shrimp out of half guard. Teixeira landing small shots and Jackson scrambles back up to his feet. Rampage lands a big uppercut. Left hook from Glover. Jackson throwing haymakers and Glover not there for them to land. Glover lands a big uppercut and Jackson looks tired now. Rampage tries a takedown but not even close. Jackson taunts Glover and lands a small combo. Rampage eats a punch and taunts him again as if unphased. Jackson eats an uppercut and then lands one of his own. They are unloading but Rampage wins the last exchanges.

Round 3 – Glover lands a big left hook. Jackson is actively moving and lands a kick to the body. Rampage landing a nice combo. Teixeira takes Rampage down to a round of boos from the crowd. Teixeira looking for an arm triangle and landing small shots to Jackson’s face. Rampage is up and eats an uppercut. They exchange wildly and Rampage looks for a takedown. Rampage gets hurt by a left hook. Jackson backing up and countering as best he can. Glover gets an easy takedown, but Rampage hops up. Jackson looks exhausted. They trade again. Rampage landing left – right combos. Glover takes him down and ends up in mount. Teixeira trying to drop bombs but nothing big gets through.

Glover Teixeira defeats Rampage Jackson via unanimous decision 30-27, 30-27, 29-28

-Anthony Pettis (15-2) vs. Donald Cerrone (19-4)

Round 1 – No touch of gloves. Pettis lands a big right hand and follows up with another combo. Cowboy with a big knee. Pettis is landing often. Pettis throwing some Tae Kwon Do kicks and Cerrone trying kicks of his own. Cerrone seems hurt from a body kick and Pettis is taking advantage. Pettis doubles Cerrone over with a rib kick that drops him. Rogan identifies it is a Bas Rutten liver kick. Cerrone is stopped and finished by Anthony.

-Erik Koch (13-1) vs. Ricardo Lamas (12-2)

Round 1 – Circling and feeling out by both fighters. Leg kicks from Lamas and Koch is moving well. Neither man willing to commit and the crowd is getting restless. Lamas shoots in for a takedown and presses Koch against the cage. Nice sprawl by Erik. Lamas drags Koch down with a one leg. Koch is back up and fighting a double leg takedown attempt from Lamas. Crowd booing. Lamas throwing everything he has in to taking down Koch to no avail. Koch lands a nice left hand. Lamas getting warned about open hands to Erik’s face. Lamas lands a small combo and he has Erik on the fence and momentarily takes him down. The round ends with Erik back on his feet.

Round 2 – Feeling out again and neither fighter looks ready to pull the trigger. A few punches and Koch presses Lamas against the cage. Lamas slips and Koch tries to capitalize but ends up on his back. Lamas in Erik’s guard. Lamas starts dropping bombs and big elbows that opens up a big cut on Erik and hurts him badly. The referee steps in and saves Erik.
