Gabriel Gonzaga (16-7 MMA, 11-6 UFC) vs Stipe Miocic (10-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) has been added to the card for UFC on FOX 10 being held on January 25 at United Center in Chicago. The Heavyweight bout is the most recent addition to the card headlining former UFC Lightweight Champion Benson “Smooth” Henderson vs the very talented Josh Thomson.
This makes the third consecutive January the United Center has hosted a FOX event. The event is scheduled to appear on FOX following the preliminary bouts set to air on FOX Sports 1.
Gabriel Gonzaga is on a roll winning five of his last six bouts. All five in which Gonzaga was able to finish his opponent. His most recent victories in the Octagon coming by way of first round knockouts over Shawn Jordan and Dave Herman. The 34 year old Gonzaga, most remembered for his head kick knockout of once great Mirco “Cro-Cop” Filipovic, has also recently defeated Big Ben Rothwell via guillotine choke and Ednaldo Oliveira by way of rear-naked choke.
Beginning his career with an extremely impressive 9-0 win streak before being handed a loss by “Skyscraper” Stefen Struve, Stipe Miocic is beginning to gain his momentum back. He first started with his unanimous decision over “Big Country” Roy Nelson at UFC 161. He is hoping to keep that ball rolling and knock Gonzaga out of his winning streak come January in Chicago. Other fights to look out for are of course the main event Benson Henderson vs Josh Thomson and also Darren Elkins vs the always dangerous Jeremy Stephens.
