UFC 142 has taken a hit today.
We reported just moments ago of the removal of Paulo Thiago and Stanislov Nedkov from UFC 142 and now the UFC has announced two more withdrawals from their return trip to Brazil.
Both Rob Broughton and Siyar Bahadurzada have been forced off the card due to injuries suffered in training.
UFC 142 is set to go down on Jan. 14 from Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena. In the main event is a featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes.
Broughton was originally scheduled to welcome UFC newcomer, Ednaldo Oliveira, to the Octagon. Having won his UFC debut back at UFC 120 last year; he has dropped his last two fights inside the Octagon.
Bahadurzada was inked to face off with Eric Silva in Brazil. He was first seen by UFC fans as one of Mayhem Millers Ultimate Fighter Season 14 coaches. The team Golden Glory fighter and Afghanistan native was set to bring in a six-fight win streak to the matchup which would have served as his UFC debut. He was last seen in a Shooto event capturing a victory over Carlos Pereira.
UFC officials noted that a replacement opponent search in underway for all four-fighters left without a fight this afternoon.
