A welterweight bout has been added to the UFC’s second scheduled show on Fox affiliate station, FX.
T.J. Waldburger and Jake Hecht have agreed to face each other in the UFC’s return trip to Australia.
Hecht confirmed the bout this morning via his official twitter account.
UFC on FX 2 is set to feature a main event welterweight bout between Martin Kampmann and Thiago Alves. The Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia will play host to the fight card on March 3 of 2012 and will also feature the opening round of the UFC’s flyweight title eliminator tournament.
Waldburger is a three-fight UFC veteran who looks to build off his Fight Night 25 victory over Mike Stumpf, who he triangle choked. A win in Australia would mark his first consecutive set of wins since entering the UFC.
Hecht last saw action making his UFC debut against Rich Attonito. It took him only two rounds to earn a fight stopping TKO victory via ground and pound. Having taken the fight on short notice, many insiders look forward to seeing what he can do when fully prepared for battle.
