December 16, 2011 1:56 pm by Pedro Carrasco

In our latest polling here at BJPENN.COM we asked our readers who you thought could beat UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones inside professional competition.

After almost 5,000 votes from our readers a staggering 53.4% (2,586 votes) of you thought that Anderson Silva is the man for the job.

769 voters (15.9%) voted that Rashad Evans is the man to dethrone Jones from the top of the 205 pound division and 1,489 voters (30.7%) think the champ in invincible.

Since entering the UFC in 2008, Jon Jones has taken out everyone the UFC has thrown at him in devastating fashion. This year, in 2011, Jones has been said to have had the most successful year in MMA history.

Starting out with the thrashing of top contender Ryan Bader, he went on to take out MMA legend Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 128 to earn the UFC’s most coveted world title. He followed up the Shogun victory with his first title defense over another legend in Rampage Jackson and most recently took out his third champion of the year in Lyoto Machida earlier this month.

For Jones the sky seems to be the limit. However our readers here at BJPENN.COM think that middleweight champion Anderson Silva is the one to put him to the test.

Anderson Silva is crowned as the pound-for-pound king of our sport. Unbeaten inside the Octagon, Anderson Silva is currently riding a 14-fight win streak under the UFC banner. He currently holds the record for longest title reign, most title defenses and longest win-streak in UFC history. These accolades include two first-round knockouts in the 205 pound division ruled over by Jon Jones.
