A middleweight contest is in the works between Tom Lawlor and Jason MacDonald for a yet to be announced May event in Virginia.
While little is known at this time, the UFC’s return trip to Virginia is expected to go down on May 15th from the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va. The Lawlor vs. MacDonald bout is currently the only fight tentatively scheduled for the yet to be made official event.
The fight card appears to be a free for TV event and will more than likely not be on pay-per-view. Whether it airs on FX or FUEL TV has yet to be determined.
“Filthy” Tom Lawlor was introduced to the UFC masses during his stint on the eighth season of the UFC’s reality show, “The Ultimate Fighter”. However the entertaining TUF alum has dug himself into a 1-3 hole in his last four Octagon appearances and he likely fights for his job against MacDonald. He last saw action at UFC 139 where he was choked out by Chris Weidman.
MacDonald also finds himself in a must win situation. On his third stint with the UFC he finds himself 1-2. The Canadian based fighter last saw action against Alan Belcher at UFC Fight Night 25 where he was stopped with punches in the first round.featured, MMA NEWS, Strikeforce, ufc news
