December 8, 2011 5:30 am by Pedro Carrasco

UFC officials have announced the addition of a middleweight bout to nest month’s UFC on FOX 2 event.

Both Justin Jacoby and Chris Camozzi have agreed to face off on the evenings preliminary card.

UFC on FOX 2 is set to go down from Chicago’s United Center on January 28 live on FOX TV. In the main event, Phil Davis will square off with Rashad Evans for the number one contender seat in the UFC’s light-heavyweight division ruled over by Jon Jones. The co-feature of the evening is a middleweight number one contender bout between Mark Munoz and Chael Sonnen. Also featured on the card is a middleweight bout with serious title implications between Michael Bisping and Damian Maia.

Jacoby entered the UFC with an unbeaten streak of six fights and an unblemished professional record. After just 12 months in the business he went into his UFC debut at UFC 137 against Clifford Starks and suffered his first career loss.

Camozzi was introduced to the UFC audience during “The Ultimate Fighter” season 11. He was last seen in action in a losing effort to Francis Carmont at UFC 137. He took the bout on short notice and as a result has dropped two of his last seven fights.

The latest UFC on FOX 2 card now includes:

Phil Davis vs. Rashad Evans
Mark Munoz vs. Chael Sonnen
Michael Bisping vs. Demian Maia

Demetrious Johnson vs. Eddie Wineland
Evan Dunham vs. Paul Sass
Michael Johnson vs. Cody McKenzie
George Roop vs. Cub Swanson
Jon Olav Einemo vs. Mike Russow
Chris Camozzi vs. Dustin Jacoby
