UFC Makes Reza Madadi Release Official Following Criminal Sentencing

UFC Officials recently announced the release of popular Swedish lightweight Reza Madadi following an 18-month prison sentencing for grand larceny charges in his native land.

The UFC’s official statement reads as follows:

“Following his conviction by a court of law in Sweden, the UFC organization has elected to terminate its relationship with Reza Madadi based on its Fighter Code of Conduct and the provision of its promotional agreement concerning fighter conduct.”

At the time of his release and criminal conviction the 33-year old fighter was 2-1 under the UFC banner which included a win over last weekend’s Joe Lauzon crusher, Michael Johnson.
