‘UFC FN 42’ Results: Hallmann Earns Submission Victory in Round 3 Against Edwards

By bjpenndotcom - June 7, 2014

Piotr Hallmann pushed through a tough first round to dominate in the second and third rounds. Yves Edwards’ footwork seemed to have confused Hallmann in the opening five minutes, which halted Hallmann from taking the fight to the ground. Edwards then proceeded to abandon his footwork in favor of power-punches which left him susceptible to takedowns. This hurt him and ultimately cost him the match.

Hallmann saw the openings Edwards was giving him and took him down at will. He forced Edwards to carry his body weight for the entirety of the second round which allowed him to transition with ease in the third. Piotr Hallmann landed one of his many takedowns and made his way to the back of Yves Edwards. Even though his back was up against the fence, Hallmann applied enough pressure to force Edwards to submit in the third round.
