May 9, 2015 8:21 pm by Ryan C. Miller

The lightweights kicked off the main card of UFC Fight Night 65 when Jake Matthews took on James Vick.

Both fighters came into this fight undefeated and it was Matthews who landed early. Then he clinched Vick on the cage and looked for a takedown. Matthews picked Vick up and slammed him to the mat. Vick worked quickly to get back to his feet. Matthews again landed with a big left. Vick managed to land a good uppercut.

The fight was stopped and then restarted due to eye poke suffered by Matthews. Vick landed a big flying knee. Then looked to lock in a tight guillotine. Matthews tried to fight it off but the fighters went to the ground and Vick held on to the choke. Matthews was forced to submit.

RESULTS: James Vick wins via submission (guillotine) at 4:53 of round 1
