Heavy handed Brazilian Thiago Silva (16-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) is set to face off against UFC new comer Ovince St. Preux (14-5 MMA, 2-0 UFC) in January at UFC Fight Night 35 being held just outside of Atlanta, GA.
Silva has had a tough few years with a pair of losses and no contests hanging over his head. However, he’s seemed to pull himself back together with recent victories over Matt Hammil and Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante, and he appears to be ready to make his way back up the ladder.
St. Preux is a former linebacker from the University of Tennessee and is best know for his 6-1 run under the Strikeforce banner. With a series of TKO and submission victories under his belt with smaller organizations, and the momentum from an impressive knockout victory over Cody Donovan in his second UFC fight, St. Preux is sure to be itching to prove his worthiness in the UFC come January.
Both fighters are heavy handed and throw bombs. Silva is not one known for boring fights and St. Preux has something to prove, and he hasn’t been a slouch in his last two fights in the Octagon. This is definitely one to look out for!
Middleweights Luke Rockhold and Constantinos Philipppou headline the card for UFC Fight Night 35 taking place January 15 at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georia. Additional fights on the card to keep and eye out for are Cole Miller vs. Sam Sicilia and T.J. Dillashaw vs. Mike Easton.Tags: MMA NEWS, Ovince St. Preux, Thiago Silva, ufc, ufc fight night, ufc news
