‘UFC Fight Night 33: Hunt vs. Bigfoot’ Main Card Play-By-Play And Live Results

RESULTS:
Bethe Correia defeated Julie Kedzie by way of Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29)
Clint Hester defeated Dylan Andrews by way of TKO (Doctor) 5:00 of Round 2
Soa Palelei defeated Pat Barry by way of Knockout (Punches) 2:09 of Round 1
Ryan Bader defeated Anthony Perosh by way of Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26)
Shogun Rua defeated James Te Huna by way of Knockout (Punches) 1:03 of Round 1
Mark Hunt and Antonio Silva fought to a Majority Draw (48-47 Hunt, 47-47, 47-47)

Bethe Correia (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) vs. Julie Kedzie (16-12 MMA, 0-1 UFC)

Round 1 – Correia takes a sidekick to the stomach. Kedzie takes a left hook. Correia’s head kick is blocked. Kedzie’s head kick sneaks through the hands of Correia. They swap hooks. Correia slams her fist into Kedzie’s head. Nice hook. Kedzie nauls a body kick. Correia is grinding and pushes Kedzie into the fence but she escapes. Body shot from Correia. Huge left hook from Correia. She lands a left jab as well. Spinning back kick misses from Kedzie. Right hands lands from Kedzie, though. Correia presses her against the fence again. Correia is stomping Kedzie’s feet and Kedzie responds with a knee to the body. Kedzie is eating multiple knees to the gut, though. Inside leg kick from Correia. Little slip from Correia after she misses a high kick. She get sup quickly and Kedzie has no time to capitalize. 10-9 Correia

Dylan Andrews (17-4 MMA, 2-0 UFC) vs. Clint Hester (8-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC)

Round 1 – Huge right hand from Hester. Andrews answers with a left. Clint Hester lands a HUGE overhand left. Andrews eats a body shot. Andrews has had enough of getting peppered while standing up and takes Hester down with EASE. Andrews is in Hester’s half guard. Andrews tries to trap the hand of Hester, but Hester is showing some good defense. Hester almost turns into an arm-in guillotine but he escapes and ends up on top of Andrews in his half guard. Hester postures up and throws a short elbow. Andrews escapes and is back to his feet. The crowd is alive, now. Hester gets back to his feet right away only to get taken back down. Andrews steals this round. 10-9 Andrews

Round 2 – Hester lands an inside leg kick, but Andrews counters with an outside leg kick. Right hook from Hester. Two outside leg kicks from Andrews. Hester tries to land a straight right a couple times but Andrews pops him with a right of his own. Hester bullies his way into a takedown and ends up in half guard. Hester is locking up the round with ground and pound. He’s slamming short elbows into the teeth of Andrews and the referee is warning them to stand up. This is silly. Andrews is hugging Hester and is begging to be stood up. Andrews is cut over his eye. Hester transitions to side control and he lands two huge right hands as Andrews makes it back to his feet. Andrews’ arms are low and his mouth is open. Hester may have a field day. Hester is picking his shots as the horn sounds. 10-9 Hester

Round 3 – Andrews’ shoulder is popped out before the round even starts. Looks like he separated it after throwing an overhand right that was blocked. Fight’s over, Hester is victorious.

Clint Hester defeated Dylan Andrews by way of TKO (Doctor) 5:00 of Round 2

Pat Barry (8-6 MMA, 5-6 UFC) vs. Soa Palelei (19-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC)

Round 1 – Left hook and takedown attempt from Palelei. Barry did a good job in getting underhooks and escapes the takedown attempt. Barry misses a leg kick. Now, he misses a head kick. Barry slams his knee into the head of Palelei as he shoots for a takedown. Palelei lands the takedown but took a serious shot in the process. Barry is looking for a kimura and almost has it, but Palelei is out of danger and now in half guard. Palelei transitions to mount and he’s grounding and pounding his way to a victory. Barry is out cold. The referee stops it. Game over.

Soa Palelei defeated Pat Barry by way of Knockout (Punches) 2:09 of Round 1

Ryan Bader (15-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC) vs. Anthony Perosh (14-7 MMA, 4-4 UFC)

Round 1 – Perosh whiffs on a takedown. Bader connects with a right hand. Bader hits a left straight to the body. Bader and Perosh clinch, but Bader just throws him to the ground. Pure Alpha. Perosh is eating some shots but he makes his way back to his feet. Bader ROCKS Perosh with an uppercut and he’s wobbly. He has a funny face on. Perosh catches Bader with an overhand right. Perosh charges forward and whiffs a jab, then eats a left hook. Perosh trips and tumbles to the ground. Bader is on top of him slamming his fists into Perosh. Bader slams his elbow into Perosh’s skull. Perosh is using that cage to try and make it back to his feet, but he’s eating shots in the process. Perosh eats another left hook as he charges forward. Bader takes him down and is in Perosh’s half guard. Bader is utilizing his ground and pound. Perosh’s face is destroyed… he’s bleeding badly. Horn sounds. 10-9 Bader

Round 2 – Bader cracks him with a jab. Bader traps Perosh against the cage and drags him down. Bader passes Perosh’s guard right away and is in side control. Bader drives his knee into the body of Perosh. Perosh is back to his back and Bader slams his elbow into Perosh’s head about three times. Brutal. Perosh takes another big left hand to the face. Perosh eats some shots as he tries to wall-walk up but he gets dragged back down. Bader is dominating on the ground. Bader has literally been on top of Perosh ground and pounding him for three minutes. Horn sounds. 10-9 Bader

Round 3 – We got thirty seconds until Bader takes Perosh down. We see much of the same action from the first two rounds. Ground and pound from Bader. Persoh fighting to get back to his feet only to get dragged back down. Perosh’s nose was bleeding profusely. His face is covered with blood, it’s insane. Horn sounds with Bader towered over Perosh. 10-9 Bader

Ryan Bader defeated Anthony Perosh by way of Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26)

Mauricio Rua (21-8 MMA, 5-6 UFC) vs. James Te Huna (16-6 MMA, 5-2 UFC)

Round 1 – Rua lands a heavy right hand to the head of Te Huna. Rua lands a leg kick. Rua eats a lef thook. Te Huna blocks a HARD right hook. Rua is hitting harder than I’ve seen him hit in a very long time. Body shot from Rua. RUA DROPS TE HUNA WITH A LEFT HOOK! Te Huna collapses to the ground and bounces around like a pogo stick. Rua postures over him and lands a shot for good measure. Holy cow. Fight over.

Shogun Rua defeated James Te Huna by way of Knockout (Punches) 1:03 of Round 1

Mark Hunt (9-8 MMA, 4-2 UFC) vs. Antonio Silva (18-5 MMA, 2-2 UFC)

Round 1 – Both men are low and their hands are high. This has a big fight feel. Straight high kick from Silva and it barely hits. Outside leg kick from Silva. Hunt whiffs on a hook. Silva just ducked it and actually tripped trying to escape but he recovered. Hunt blocks another straight kick. Silva whiffs on a head kick. Hunt backs Silva into the fence and his two shots are blocked. Silva gets the better of another exchange and Hunt kind of slips. He recovers quickly but eats a knee as he gets back up. Big leg kick from Mark Hunt. Silva follows up a successful front kick with a right hook that shakes Hunt’s head. Silva lands a leg kick and tries to press Hunt against the fence but Hunt turns the table right away. Silva is pressed against the fence and they’re jockeying for position. They push off and we’re back in the middle of the octagon. Strong body kick from Silva. Horn sounds. 10-9 Silva

Round 2 – Silva is starting to really attack the lead leg of Hunt which is what generates a lot of his effortless power. If he can’t plant with it, then he won’t have much to work with. Silva tries to get in the clinch but Hunt just shoves him off. Strong guy. Silva whiffs on a spinning back heel kick. Hunt’s lead leg is a bit messed up. Big Foot’s head kick is checked by Hunt’s shoulder. Hunt staggers Silva with a right cross and that’s his most significant strike of the round and fight. Inside leg kick from Hunt. Hunt lands a left hook and a right cross. Big body kick to the gut of Bigfoot. Hunt’s left hook is blocked. Hunt takes another leg kick and wobbles; he’s in trouble. Hunt’s stance is switched. Big Foot with an oblique kicks. Horn sounds. 10-9 Hunt

Round 3 – Hunt shoots for a takedown attempt and he gets it but Silva pops right back up. Hunt needs to stay close so Silva cannot low kick him. Silva tries to trip Hunt and take him down but Hunt reverses it and Hunt presses Silva against the fence. Silva presses off and almost lands a head kick. Silva lands a couple more leg kicks. Hunt drops Silva with a big right hand! Hunt is postured over Silva and he’s landing some shots. He’s landing brutal elbows. Hunt is in Silva’s half guard and is punching away. Hunt remains on top of Silva for the remainder of the round and the crowd is on their feet. 10-9 Hunt

Round 4 – Silva opens the round up with a bunch of heavy leg kicks but Hunt is pushing forward. Hunt presses Silva on the fence and pushes off. They’re back in the middle of octagon. Silva lands a leg kick and Hunt nails him with a right hook. Hunt pushes Silva down onto the ground and almost dives into a triangle. Hunt powers through it though and postures over Silva. He’s right back to what he was doing in the end of the third round, utilizing ground and pound. They’re back on their feet. Silva gets cracked with two elbows but Hunt eats a knee and he backs up against the fence! Silva is blasting him with shots but Hunt musters up enough energy to blast him with two shots! Hunt attempts a takedown but Silva ends up on top and is trying to finish the fight. Hunt tries to buck out but Silva ends up in full mount. Hunt is bloodied and but Silva cannot finish him. This is insane. Horn sounds. We will see a round five. 10-9 Silva

Round 5 – They hug to open the round. Hunt catches Silva with three big punches! Silva eats a left jab. Another big right hand from Hunt. They swap hooks. Silva’s takedown is stuffed. Silva eats a left hook and a right elbow. Left hook from Hunt. Four left hooks from Hunt in a row! This round is all Hunt. Right cross and short crisp elbow from Hunt. Hunt has Silva pressed against the fence and he’s taking shot after shot. Silva is hurt bad. The referee steps in and asks the doctor to take a look at the cut. Interesting timing. Action resets in the middle of the octagon and Hunt is back to picking his shots. Silva lands a three punch combinations and Hunt’s back is on the cage. Silva leans on Hunt and tries to tire him out and is picking his shots. Hunt lands two HUGE left hands! Body shots from Hunt. Knee to the head from Silva. Hunt’s back is against the octagon cage again and Silva is leaning on him. Hunt turns the tables. Hunt whiffs on a short elbow. right hook from both men connect. Right hook from Hunt and this fight is over. Horn sounds. Ridiculous. We are going to a judge’s decision. 10-9 Hunt
