UFC 194 Results: Urijah Faber Defeats Frankie Saenz via decision

A key bantamweight bout between Urijah Faber (32-8 MMA) and Frnakie Saenz (11-2 MMA) served as the preliminary main attraction for UFC 194.

“The California Kid” came out of the gate quickly in this one, landing some solid knees and elbows on Saenz to get things started.

Faber is fighting angry and it is resulting in a competitive opening round, as Saenz is proving to be a game opponent.

Saenz seems to be getting the better of the scrambles early on.

Faber comes out and rocks Saenz to begin round two. Frankie is on rubber legs and Urijah smells the blood in the water. Takedown and some huge elbows by Faber. The fighters are back to their feet and Faber lands a huge knee. Saenz is super tough, he is eating everything and still moving forward. Faber looks to be tiring.

Round three and both men are willing to stand and bang. Saenz is landing some viscous kicks. Faber answers by using some solid head movement to get inside. Both men are swinging for the fences now. Faber scores a late takedown and begins working to improve his position. Saenz returns to his feet with thirty seconds left. One more takedown from Faber and he looks to have secured the decision victory.
