UFC 171 Hendricks vs. Lawler Scorecard: Crosby Issues 10-8 in Round 2 and 10-10 in Round 5

UFC 171 took place in Texas on Saturday night and saw the dawn of a new era in the welterweight division. For the first time since 2008, a new UFC Welterweight Champion has been crowned and his name is Johny Hendricks. Hendricks took the fight by way of unanimous decision, but there was some controversy in the way a certain judge scored the fight.

Texas judge Doug Crosby gave Johny Hendricks a 10-8 in Round 2 and scored the fifth round as a draw (10-10). The scores did not match up with Aladin Martinez or Mike Gonzales who both scored Round 2 10-9 and Round 5 10-9, both in favor of Hendricks.

This was a judging error that did not greatly effect the outcome of the fight, but it does raise concern on whether or not the judges know anything about the sport they are watching. Do you agree with Doug Crosby’s scores? If so, share why in the comment section below! If not, tweet us!
