UFC 162 RESULTS: Cub Swanson Knocks-Out Dennis Siver to Earn Him His Fifth Straight Victory

| What a start to the main card. This bout was definitely a fun battle!

The fight started out as a kick-boxing battle and the first thing I noticed was how big Siver was! It started off explosive and it was pretty close in the first round until Cub threw a spinning back and Siver caught it and took Swanson down. From there he controlled the round and landed some nice shots.

The second round was much closer and neither man really landed any devastating shots until Cub landed a nice uppercut and then launched Siver with a beautiful throw that landed him in full mount. From there he landed some nice shots but Siver hit a nice escape, created a scramble and took the back of Swanson right at the end of the second round. It seemed at that point in the fight both fighters had won a round and the winner of the third was going to take the fight.

Swanson came out with a fire in the third and it looked like he was feeling much more fresh than Siver, finally finding his range. About midway through the round it was clear that Swanson was running away with the win and then he landed a clean combination that dropped Siver to the canvas. Swanson followed up with several precise strikes from the top that ultimately led to Herb Dean stepping in and awarding Swanson a very impressive TKO victory over a very game opponent in Dennis Siver.

This win marks Swanson’s fifth straight victory inside the UFC and with the skill set he just put on displayto topple the Juggernaut in Dennis Siver at UFC 162 I think many fans are going to be considering him a top contender in the UFC featherweight division. Swanson looked sharp, strong, and confident and with the string of wins he’s put together I’m sure the organization is going to be considering his name when thinking of future title fights.
