UFC 162 adds Mike Pierce vs. David Mitchell to already stacked line-up!

Two tough welterweights are set to meet at UFC 162 on July 6 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Mike Pierce (16-5 MMA, 8-3 UFC) will try to keep his win streak going when he faces David Mitchell (12-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC).

Pierce had been campaigning for either Ellenberger or Lawler but both of those fighters got other fights lined up. So now riding his three fight win streak with only one loss in last 5 fights coming to Josh Koscheck, Pierce will look to move up the ranks. Pierce has 11 fights in the UFC with his first dating back to 2009 and all three of his fights he lost in UFC have come to top contenders.

David Mitchell is looking to build on his winning ways after his unanimous decision victory against Simeon Thoresen at UFC on FOX in January. Mitchell was 11-0 when he joined the UFC in 2010, but suffered two straight losses in the organization. With winning his last fight it seems that he has saved his career and renewed his hunger to be the best.

It will be Pierce’s top notch wrestling against Mitchell’s top-level submission game that determines the winner in this fight. Two guys clearly looking move up the latter in the UFC will definitely put on a great fight when they meet in Las Vegas.
