Former UFC lightweight contender, Tyson Griffin, is set to make is promotional debut for the World Series of Fighting against Gesias Cavalcante, Brazilian website Tatame.com announced Monday.

Griffin (16-6) left the UFC in 2011 following a 1-4 run in the promotion.  He has since bounced back, winning his last fight in November against Efrain Escudero at RFA 4.

Gesias Cavalcante (17-7-1) had a lot of momentum early in his career, going 14-1-1 in his first 16 fights.  After that, however, his success has fluctuated, most recently going 1-1 in the World Series of Fighting’s first two events.

WSOF 4 is slated for August 4, 2013 at the Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, CA.  Also on the card, WSOF president Ray Sefo will be making his return to fighting, as he will be facing an opponent still to be named.
