Former UFC lightweight contender, Tyson Griffin, is set to make is promotional debut for the World Series of Fighting against Gesias Cavalcante, Brazilian website Tatame.com announced Monday.
Griffin (16-6) left the UFC in 2011 following a 1-4 run in the promotion. He has since bounced back, winning his last fight in November against Efrain Escudero at RFA 4.
Gesias Cavalcante (17-7-1) had a lot of momentum early in his career, going 14-1-1 in his first 16 fights. After that, however, his success has fluctuated, most recently going 1-1 in the World Series of Fighting’s first two events.
WSOF 4 is slated for August 4, 2013 at the Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, CA.
